3 Great Reasons for Your International Clients to Buy Now

Information comes from an article written by Mortgage Planner Dan Green, TheMortgageReports.com

For Non-U.S. Citizens, Consider Buying U.S. Real Estate In 2008 Instead Of 2012

100,000 invested in the U.S. real estate market has yielded a terrific return since July 2008, the bottom of the U.S. dollar in foreign exchange markets

(I love that little graph above)

"When foreign national buyers consider investing in U.S. real estate, they often focus on projects set to deliver 2-4 years out as opposed to projects that are ready to deliver today.

Considering the path of the world's economy , this long-term investment strategy may be a bit short-sighted. For non-U.S. citizens wanting to buying investment property in the United States, there are 3 excellent reasons to consider buying property now instead of at some vaguely-defined point in the future.

By themselves, each point holds it own merit. Combined, however, the rationale is even more logical."

Here are Dan's 3 Reasons:

Reason #1: Home prices in the United States are relatively low

Reason #2: The U.S. Dollar is running wild over the Euro, Pound, and others

Reason #3: Foreign national mortgages are still available, despite what you hear

A call for ideas to change the world...thanks Google!

I logged onto Google the other day, like I do so many times a day and I noticed a link below the search bar that read: Project 10 to the 100th is a call for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible. Sounded interesting so I clicked on it.

Turns out Google is looking for ideas to change the world from all of us and they are willing to fund $10million to make that idea a reality. I think this is a great thing Google is doing. Finally a company using their money for a good cause!

Below are the categories they are looking for ideas in:

  • Community: How can we help connect people, build communities and protect unique cultures?
  • Opportunity: How can we help people better provide for themselves and their families?
  • Energy: How can we help move the world toward safe, clean, inexpensive energy?
  • Environment: How can we help promote a cleaner and more sustainable global ecosystem?
  • Health: How can we help individuals lead longer, healthier lives?
  • Education: How can we help more people get more access to better education?
  • Shelter: How can we help ensure that everyone has a safe place to live?
  • Everything else: Sometimes the best ideas don't fit into any category at all.

If you have any ideas submit them to Google or if you have an idea that maybe needs a little help post it here and maybe if we all put our heads together we could think of something even more powerful.

Deadline is October 20th!

Thanks for taking the time to make our world a better place.

Doc Stamp Issue Resolved-Win for Realtors!

Realtor Win!

Doc Stamp Payment Issue on Short Sales Resolved

Great news today!

There has been a dispute over amounts owed on the documentary stamp tax for "short sale" properties. The dispute centers on whether the doc stamp taxes owed on the deed is based on the sales price paid by the purchaser, or on the sales price plus any existing debt forgiven by the bank.

The doc stamps should be paid on the lower amount, and NOT the amount plus the forgiven amount by the lender in an arm's length transaction between the three parties.

This is a huge Realtor victory!
