Day 12: Visit Thalian Hall - Experience the Magic!!
This theatre is Wilmington's greatest star.
This beautiful piece of history has been undergoing a facelift and will debut with a Grand Opening in Mid May. There will be public events to honor this beauty which was built in 1858. There are new and reorganized theatre seats, a new lift on the ochestra pit, painting and restoration have been under way plus you will notice new carpeting, sound and lighting equipment. The box office has been relocated, there is a new gift shop and a most elegant chandelier was designed to reflect the mid 19th centurey.
This beauty has housed many a famous celebrity and is now a state-of-the art facility to serve Wilmingtonians and its visitors. There will be a Gala reopening show and reception May 14 and 15th, a dedication ceremony May 18 and other Free venues. Day 11: Childrens' Museum of Wilmington, NC - -One of the best places to visit in Wilmington

There is so much to explore. Whether you are a resident or visiting t...he area....don't miss this "things to do" in Wilmington and the Cape Fear Region. The pirate ship is awesome....there are outside activities and creatures to explore. Hands on activities for the children are the best and adults you will love this too.
Day 10: Plan a visit to Starbucks - Today was a hot and humid day and a visit to Starbucks in Wilmington was very refreshing. There are several Starbucks to visit in Wilmington - Independence Mall, Landfall Shopping Center, College Road or the one we chose at The Village of Mayfaire.
http://www.starbucks.com/ What can be more refreshing than a Caramel Frappucinno, LIGHT. Silly as it is, we still watch our calories when we indulge in this great refreshing pick me up. Savor that drink inside or out.
The staff is very nice, there's free Wi-Fi which is great for those visiting the area and best of all check out there free Itunes downloads....I have a few and they have been great!!!

I have had them work on some of my jewelry and they can create special pieces for you or fix something in your jewelry box....now eating is another thing....Paddy's Hollow, the German Café ...you can't go wrong.
..and the Two Sisters Bookery is the place to tinker around in. Check it out when you visit Historic Downtown Wilmington. When you are done...take a stroll along the Riverwalk of Wilmington. YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!!
Day 8: Baja 38 Kiva Grill - Porters Neck ---
Well, we hope we aren't too late today with this, because there is still time to go to the Porters Neck Kiva Grill for ½ price baby back ribs for $7.95. If you haven't made dinner plans, stop in your tracks and head to Porters Neck. And.......forget watching those calories ton...ight....this is one dish you won't want to miss. http://www.liveeatsurf.com/ THURSDAY is the day to enjoy this meal. I'm so glad their brought this back to Kiva!!! You get 2 sauce choices (sweet or spicy) , fries (skinny ones in case you are watching those carbs) and cole slaw.....it is fabulous and plenty for the hungry appetite. Check the board out front for other specials. And oh, by the way, their salsa is the best in town....you can't stop at one basket of chips..... bring your appetite and enjoy.
Tonight's going to be lovely so you may want to dine outside under the moonlight. Maybe I'll see you there!!
