So I recieved a call yesterday evening from Alison Himelhoch of WLNS 6 News asking for an interview of me to discuss the declining sheriff's deeds in Ingham County, Michigan as compared to last years numbers. I have communicated with Alison in the past but was sceptically of this subject as it is kind of a hot button. The numbers don't represent an accurate picture of our market due to the moratorium that was applied to sheriff's deed last year. So I turned her down as I did not want to be the one to deliver the bad news.
5-10 minutes later I had a change of heart. Wanting to make sure the public got to hear from the Real Estate community was important to me and WLNS. I decided that I could be that voice to make sure everyone had an opportunity to hear our side of the story. My message came across fairly well I think, our interview included a lot more positive statements about the market but overall I think it went well.
I look forward to your thoughts and have a great day.
I am working on getting a copy of the video so I can post it elsewhere. Click the photo to view the link to vieo from WLNS 6 News.

February 2009
Well the February numbers are in and I am very happy to say that we saw a noticeable increase in all 3 counties for average sales prices as compared to January 2009. We also saw increases in total units sold all the way across the board.
We are still seeing a drop in the average sales price as compared to last year during February and that is a trend we expect to continue with all of the real estate owned (REO's or Foreclosures) properties that are being listed. Personally I have noticed an increase in activity on my traditional listings as well as new buyer activity.
