Tucked away at the end of Chaffin Place
in Murfreesboro TN is HylaBrook Antique Mall. It is 8,000 square feet filled with booths for over 50 antique dealers. You never know what you will find when you go! HylaBrook is full of countless treasures and unique finds. I felt like I was taking a walk down memory lane when I saw lunch boxes and toys that I had as a child. There is a story behind every piece that you will find at HylaBrook Mall.
The mall is well maintained and the merchandise is displayed nicely. I was really impressed with how clean and bright this antique mall was. It really made for an enjoyable shopping experience. The booths were all presented nicely, the staff was friendly and I found the prices reasonable.
We discovered old comic books, children’s books and local cookbooks. There were several booths that offered hand crocheted items, vintage linens, collectible cookie jars, depression glass, and rosewood furniture.
But, our favorite was the large collection of intricate vintage jewelry that filled many of the display cabinets. My daughter fell in love with a gorilla made with fresh water pearls that was holding vintage bracelets! 
This is a great place to find unique gifts. We will definitely be going back to visit HylaBrook. They are open Monday through Thursday 9 - 6, Friday & Saturday 9 - 8, Sunday 12 - 6. They are located at 204 Chaffin Place, Murfreesboro, TN 37129, Phone 615-907-6066.

Football Booster Club is teaming up with Ford of Murfreesboro to raise $8000 for the Blackman Football Team! The Ford Motor Company’s Drive One 4 UR School program is Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Blackman High School. This program provides residents of Murfreesboro and the surrounding communities the opportunity to raise money (a LOT of money!) for the Blackman High Football Team by simply test driving a new FORD vehicle! How easy is that!?
Ford Motor Company and the Murfreesboro Ford dealership will donate $20 for every test drive taken (up to $6,000) to the Blackman High School Football program. There will be a large selection of new Ford vehicles to test drive at Blackman High on Sunday, September 25.
If you like to stay on top of the latest automobiles on the market, the new 2012 Ford Focus will be available that day as a second test drive for a $10 donation to the school. The maximum number of second test drives will be 200 ($2,000 in donations!) so make sure and get in line early!
Anyone wishing to participate in this event must be 18 years old or older and have a valid driver’s license. Test drives will last approximately five to seven minutes and there is a limit of one test drive per household. The event will be held at Blackman High School, Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 10 am til 4 pm.

My girls and I decided to finally stop by and try the food at Blue Coast Burrito in Murfreesboro
TN on Memorial Blvd close to Clark Avenue and MTSU. I’ve always been drawn to the cool art work on the side of this “mexican” restaurant, and there is always a parking lot full of cars. But, for some reason I’ve just never stopped in and just thought it was another mexican restaurant. I can honestly say that I was SO GLAD I finally made the decision to try Blue Coast Burrito and will definitely be stopping by here regularly!
So, it’s just another taco joint right? Wrong! Everything at Blue Coast is made fresh to order while you wait. You can customize your taco or burrito with black beans, rice, refried beans, cabbage, peppers, the whole nine yards! They serve Mexican food Baja west coast style - and it tastes amazing!
Their chips were very good and the queso sauce and pineapple salsa made them incredible. My girls selected the burrito and taco combination plates but customized them and made them unique! This isn’t your typical ‘taco” by any means. I selected the Fish Burrito Baja style and I give it a perfect ten or two thumbs up. This burrito was HUGE and could easily be cut in half and shared...but trust me that you will not want to share a bite! You may opt to have a trio of fish tacos instead which is a house specialty. And, if you’ve never tried a fish taco...you are in for a delicious surprise!
The decor is whimsical and makes you feel like you have just step inside a restaurant located on the West Coast border. If weather is nice you can enjoy dining outside. The inside dining room is spacious and would be a great place to meet friends or larger groups of people. I found the location very easy to get in and out of as well. I noticed that they even have a catering service!
