
Mom & Son Date Night
On Friday, March 13th, you can jump on the bus and head out to the Allstate Arena for a date you won't forget... a Chicago Wolves Hockey game! The bus will be leaving from the Lake In The Hills Village Hall at 5:30pm and will be returning at 11:00pm. Each participant will receive a Mom & Son Date Night photo and other fun items to help make the night complete.
When we arrive at the rink, participants will receive a ticket for a hot dog and soda at the concession stand. The cost is $65.00 for Residents and $75.00 for non-residents. The fee includes transportation, dinner, and admission to the game. Please call 847-960-7460 to reserve your spot.

On Friday, March 6th bring your family out to Chesak Elementary School from 6:00-8:30pm and see what the Parks & Recreation Department has to offer for the Winter/Spring classes.

Algonquin - Lake In The Hills Food Pantry has a new website!
The mission of the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry is to provide
temporary, immediate access to food for families in need living within the boundaries of
Algonquin and Lake in the Hills. The organization was founded and is operated by
representatives from several local churches. The pantry is actively supported by the
villages of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills as well as many area residents. Many
volunteers from these villages and churches comprise the staff that oversees the
operation of the pantry. The pantry is open from 9:30 AM until noon on Tuesdays and
Thursdays and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
The new website provides important information such as who is eligible for assistance,
nutritional information, how to donate to the pantry, how to organize a food drive, and
information on volunteering.
The Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry officially opened its doors at 600
East Oak Street, Lake in the Hills, in January of 2000. They operate as a not-for-profit
corporation under IRS code, section 501 c (3). For additional information about the
Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry, please visit the new website at
AARP Tax-Aide is a free service offered to Seniors in McHenry County. Starting on Friday, February 6, 2009, AARP Tax Representatives will be at Village Hall in the Community Room. They will prepare and electronically file your Federal and State of Illinois Income Tax Returns. This service is available for seniors age 60 and older of moderate to low income that live in McHenry County.
The hours are Monday & Friday from 9:00am-Noon, with the last appointment each day being 11:00am. Please allow at least one hour for this service. Call 847-960-7460 to make an appointment. Appointments are required.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department has two certified car seat technicians that can inspect child car seats and properly install, if needed. The technician also shows the parent how to do it properly for future reference. There is no charge for this service.
Car Seat Inspections are available by appointment only and are available to Lake in the Hills residents only. To make an appointment or to get more information please call the Police Department at 847-658-5676
