Portand, OR Real Estate (Supra Lockbox Activity)

Portland, OR Real Estate

Supra Lockbox Activity, week ending Sept. 13, 2009

The lockbox is the magic access key that allows agents to open the doors on listed property. It also keeps statistics, and as you can see, there has been a slight INCREASE in activity, and this includes Portland, OR real estate activity. In a nutshell, listing showings are up, on average by 3.9%.

This percentage is compared to the week prior, as shown on the chart.

With the $8,000 tax credit expiring about 2+ months out, it would be interesting to follow the Portland, OR real estate trend with showings going up, or down?

BUYERS: What that means for you . . . the properties you have interest in are getting shown -- to other buyers. These showings are for the RMLS Supra lockbox in the state. The Portland, OR real estate market might have slightly higher levels of activity.

SELLERS: Check and see with your listing agent if the STAT above, of 3.9% increase is holding true with your property. Are you getting any more showings??

The Oregon Zoo -- the ROAR is Back!

The Oregon ZooThis weekend, the Oregon Zoo re-opened its African Lion exhibit, which had been shut down since 1998.

But now, the ROAR IS BACK . . .

The lions' area consists of over 2 1/2 acres, and is far from the olden days of seeing lions in small, cramped cages. The three lions that are making their home at the Oregon Zoo will roam . . . and ROAR . . . as they see fit.

"Lions rest on warm rocks and prowl through open grassland. One cheetah drinks from a waterfall-fed pool, while another investigates a safari vehicle, then lies down for a nap on the warm metal hood. Meanwhile, a pack of African wild dogs frolics in the grassland, their growls loud above the sound of a rippling stream. The Oregon Zoo's Predators of the Serengeti exhibit features nose-to-whisker views and expansive naturalistic environments for some of Africa's most endangered carnivores." Cited: http://www.oregonzoo.org/Exhibits/PredatorsOfSerengeti/home.htm

Also in the exhibit at the Oregon Zoo are Mongooses, Cheetahs, African Wild Dogs, Caractas, and more.

What an exciting new GRAND OPENING at the Oregon Zoo. I've not been to the Oregon Zoo of late, but now with this new exhibit, it might be a good day-trip!

Alice in Wonderland and the City of Beaverton

alice in wonderland stuck in a houseLooking Glass Hill is a subdivision located in the City of Beaverton, Oregon.

Another builder who had a penchant and a vision for their streets is the developer who built in Lake Oswego, and named streets in the subdivision using the Lord of the Rings characters and locations.

I actually owned a condo on Alice Lane, and that's how I became familiar with Looking Glass Hill.

If you're a big fan of Alice in Wonderland . . . think about looking for your next home on: Madhatter Lane.

Maybe you'd like to live on Cheshire Road . . . or Cheshire Court?

Or, try "off with their heads" Queen (of Hearts) Lane?

I love to discover the little things that make my beloved Metro Portland area so interesting, unique and full of character.
