Portand, OR Real Estate (Supra Lockbox Activity)

Portland, OR Real Estate

Supra Lockbox Activity, week ending August 30, 2009

The lockbox is the magic access key that keeps statistics, and as you can see, there has been a slight DECREASE in activity, and this includes Portland, OR real estate activity.

In a nutshell, listing showings are DOWN SLIGHTLY, but only slightly on average of -1.0% from prior week ending, August 23, 2009. This percentage is compared to the week prior, as shown on the chart.

BUYERS: What that means for you . . . the properties you have interest in are getting shown -- but showings are off a tad. These showings are for the RMLS Supra lockbox in the state. The Portland, OR real estate market might have slightly higher levels of activity.

SELLERS: Check and see with your listing agent if the STAT above, of -1.0% DECREASE is holding true with your property. Are you getting more showings then this week's statistics show?

Portland and "The Simpson" Connection

If you're a 'The Simpsons' fan . . . and if you live in Portland, Oregon you know that Matt Groening was born here and grew up here. He attened Ainsworth Elementary, and Lincoln High.

But did you know . . . that many of Matt Groening's characters are based on his life here in Portland.

It dawned on me, one day, when I was on Terwilliger Blvd., crossing over Lovejoy St., passing Kearney St., heading over to Montgomary Park by taking a left on Burnside heading over to Quimby St., then gong to NW Flanders St . . .

Names sound familiar?

They should. Notable characters: Ned Flanders, Rev. Lovejoy, Mayor Quimby, Bob Terwilliger, Montgomery Burns . . .

A coincidence??

What's Your State's Motto?

What's YOUR State's Motto?

I'm posing this question after reading a blog by AR blogger: Patricia Aulson. She's a New Hampshire real estate agent, and she quoted her state's motto: Live free or die!

I kinda like that motto. I'd rather live free . . .

Which got me thinking about my State, Oregon. I honestly didn't know what our motto was, so I looked it up.

Alis Volat Propiis is Latin and translated to English means: She flies on her own wings!

How very appropriate. At least personally. I fly on my own wings too!

Oregon was admitted to the Union Feb. 14, 1859.

How sweet! We, therefore, should be officially known as: The VALENTINE STATE!

What is YOUR State's Motto?

This blog should have been posted July 4th this year -- our Nation's Birthday. But, I didn't think about it 'til now.

But, please share your state's motto, and anything interesting you might find out.
