Virgo and Pisces

Virgo and PiscesYou thought Virgo and Pisces was about a horoscope hook-up?

Nope!

Virgo and Pisces is about a wonderful restaurant in Portland, OR.

Think I'm kidding . . . check out the Thai crepe, with home-style potatoes. The delicate sauce is amazing, and the crepe is light. You be full, but not feel overwhelmed.

The owners named the place after their Sun signs. Why not? And the ambiance is a typical Pacific NW bistro flare . . . local fishes, Salmon, shrimps dishes, with a combined Asian, traditional.

Whatever it is -- Virgo and Pisces serves REALLY good food!

The artwork is done by local artists, and to give even more support for the local art scene, the weekends have live music brought to you by local bands.

During the summer months, there's outside seating, and the Virgo and Pisces is a great place to 'people watch.'

Check out the Local Pear Salad, the Cedar Planked Wild Coho Salmon, or our Savory Dinner and Sweet Crepes-all made from scratch."

Damascus, OR Man Arrested for Stripping His House

In Real Estate NEWS . . . of the STUPID: A Damascas, OR man was arrested for stripping his house -- of EVERYTHING!

Merriam-Webster defines "strip" as:

  • Main Entry: 1strip
  • Pronunciation: \ˈstrip\
  • Function: verb
  • Inflected Form(s): stripped \ˈstript\ also stript; strip·ping
  • Etymology: Middle English strepen, strippen, from Old English -strīepan; akin to Old High German stroufen to strip
  • Date: 13th century

transitive verb 1 a : to remove clothing, covering, or surface matter from b : to deprive of possessions c : to divest of honors, privileges, or functions

------------------------------------------------------

And that's EXACTLY what the Damascus, OR man did. He removed cover and all surface matter from . . . . his former property . . . after it was foreclosed.

I feel as if this should be a Dr. Seuss rhyme of some kind. . . he removed all three toilets, pipes and sink. He removed everything -- even the leaks. He removed kitchen cabinets, refrigerator too. Nothing was left, not even the flue.

And why was the Damascus, OR man arrested for stripping his house?

Because he was CAUGHT! Most people who do this type of crime -- it's a felony -- are never prosecuted because there are never any witnesses. It's done under the cloak of darkness. Who knows who "done it?" most of the time?

But, when neighbors saw this guy -- their former neighbor -- stripping away all "covering and surface matter" from his former home, they called the cops.

It's sad because he lost his home, his temper and now he lost his freedom (for a while)

Portland, OR Real Estate (Supra Lockbox Activity)

Portland OR Real state Market Activity

Portland, OR Real Estate

Supra Lockbox Activity, as August 16, 2009

"After an increase last week, lockbox activity dipped again slightly in the week of August 10-16 compared to the prior week. In Oregon activity was down 1.4%." [cited RMLS]

The lockbox is the magic access key that keeps statistics, and as you can see, there has been a slight DECREASE in activity, and this includes Portland, OR real estate activity. In a nutshell, listing showings are down, but only slightly on average of -1.4% With the $8,000 tax credit expiring about 3 months out, it would be fun to follow the Portland, OR real estate trend with showings going up, or down?

BUYERS: What that means for you . . . the properties you have interest in are getting shown -- to other buyers. These showings are for the RMLS Supra lockbox in the state. The Portland, OR real estate market might have slightly higher levels of activity.

SELLERS: Check and see with your listing agent if the STAT above, of -1.4% decrease is holding true with your property. Might be time to re-evaluate pricing. You want your metro Portland, OR real estate to MOVE!

I kinda blew it for the "SUMMER" classes . . . it may be a tad late to join OCT acting academy for the summer session, D'oh . . . but what a great lead time for NEXT year! (They do hold classes year 'round though!)

The Oregon Children's Theatre is an Metro Portland staple. Going around to schools during the school year, providing some wonderful school programs. I'll be blogging about The Amazing Food Detective soon, a collaborative effort between OCTwith Kaiser Permanente.

If you're an adult that loves to act, OCT puts on wonderful performance which take place through-out the year. The venues are topnotch; The Schnitz, Newmark Theatre, Winningstad Theatre . . . and most shows sell out.

This season's line up of GREAT performances presented by the Oregon Children's Theatre can be checked out by going to their website:
