Sunday December 14th 42*above , Monday December 15th -20*degrees below

Talk about a reverse in temperatures, we had a 60 degree swing in one day. This morning I carved our Re/Max name on the office window. This was on the inside.

Truly in Wisconsin you can have it all, speaking of weather that is, now in regards to real estate we could us a good thaw. We are encouraged that the interest rates are moving downward and that the amount of home on the market in our area have been reduced.

So we will celebrate Christmas, ring in the New Year and get ready to have a great 2009 in home sales.

Meet my neigbhors they are Udderly radiculious

I live in the land of cows and plows in picturesque Green County Wisconsin. These ladies are truly my neighbors. The road I live on has four active dairy farms on just about a 2 mile stretch. These ladies are both Holsteins (the black & white cows)and Brown Swiss. The Brown Swiss is where we get the chocolate milk from. In my youth we actually rode a very gentel cow named Bossy.

I hope we can have a line-up of clients like these cows at are open houses this next year. I guess the key is to serve food, it works for these ladies.

Care to share any good marketing ideas that worked for you would be greatly appreciated

Scott

The Snow Day was a Great Day

Thanks for all the comments about the Snow Day. The kids and I finished the day sledding down our driveway well into the evening and playing "king of the hill". This old guy still rules the hill. Many an attempt was made to take me off the top of the snow castle but to no avail. Any of you agents in the sunshine state right after Christmas please send us in the land of the frozen chosen an early spring.

The real estate market is looking to be not for the faint of heart if you have any great marketing ideas that have worked for you, send them my way. Thank you, Scott

I't a Snow Day! School and the ReMax office is Closed

In the busyness of our adult lives it's great to have a reminder every now and again that life isn't just about closing the next deal. This photo of two of my boys having a blast on their improvised sled, reminded me of a scene from the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". This in turn made me think how very blessed I am to have a beautiful wife of 26 years and six fantastic children, a roof over our heads and food on the table. Times my be tight in the real estate market but as compared to the majority of the people in this world we truly have a Wonderful Life. The office is closed today because the snow and ice so I plan to revisit the kid in me today, how about you?

A perspective on the biggest misconception about banking and home purchasing

This is Steve Kundert, he is the Residential Mortgage Loan Officer at Anchor Bank in Monroe, WI. I asked Steve what he thought was the biggest misconception in banking today as it relates to home purchasing. This is what he had to say.

"One of the biggest misconceptions about banks and home purchasing in today's housing market is the banks are out of money and not providing loans. That's simply not true. The lenders ar AnchorBank work with customers every day to make sure they know how much home they can afford and what the loan process will be. In fact, in some cases low or zero down payments are still available for low-income home buyers.

If you find the right lender and know what you can afford, now is actually a great time to buy, as rates continue to drop to near historic lows. There are many types of loan products available, with long-term fixed rate products being the most popular. A long-term fixed rate loan will give you the security of a fixed monthly payment at an attractive interest rate. Remember, it is important to look for a trusted lender who will give you all of your loan options and then let you choose.

Bundling your banking is another great way to save money. For example, at AnchorBank, we offer free checking to customers with a home loan." Steve's phone number is 608-325-7161

So there you have it, money is available and home selection is great so why don't you give me a call today and let me help you find your Dream Home. Scott Larson 608-214-9844 or on the web at greencountyhomeguide.com
