Redefining LUXE was at the 2009 CTHBA Home and Outdoor Living Show

Redefining LUXE was at the 2009 CTHBA Home and Outdoor Living Show along with our colleagues Tweeked, Inc. which was held at the North Charleston Convention Center. The show was a huge success for them as well as the Charleston Trident Home Builders Association. All of the booths were sold out, with vendors ranging from Home Builders, various ways of Home Improvement, both inside and out and Dog Rescue. Our booth was located across from the Dog Rescue which was a pleasure as we saw a steady stream of people. The Dogs were a big hit with the entire family! They were a great conversation piece with people and I hope a few matches were made with dogs and new owners!

As you can see from the photo, our booth was a corner booth. We brought in furnishings including an armless fabric chair with end table, lamp and accessories, a console table, with two iron stools and a small bobbin leg desk and chair. To complete the look and warm up the space, we added art, a thick pile fuzzy rug, and greenery. We also draped putty color fabric aloRedefining LUXE was at the 2009 CTHBA Home and Outdoor Living Showng the back of the booth to hide the purple and white curtains that were hanging as a backdrop. We recevied numerous compliments on how warm and inviting the space was, which is exactly the purpose of Home Staging.

Because of the feeling people felt from our booth space, we were able to easliy explain the principles of Home Staging and why it is not only important to consider as part of your marketing strategies in preparing your home for sale, but how effective it is! It didn't hurt to have chocolate Hershey's Kisses for people to eat!

Redefining LUXE launches a NEW look their website

If you have visited our website before, most of it will look the same. We have been working hard staging homes, etc. for the past year and have sorely needed an update to our portfolio pages.

I am proud to announce I just finished the new look of our portfolio! I redesigned each of the pages, added more recent projects and additional categories. Tell me what you think as I am anxious to hear.

2009 ~ Are you In or Out? My take on HGTV's Home Staging Industry Prediction

How many of you read the Article, "What's In, What's Out with Home Buyers in 2009" on HGTV's Pro website? If you haven't, please do so. It lists Home Staging as an OUT!!! And further states that Buyers want to see the sellers market the home the way it is! I have to whole-heartedly disagree as I am sure many of you will as well.

In the Charleston Market, Home Staging is STILL booming. If you haven't been convinced by the numbers yet, perhaps you never will, but those Real Estate Agents and Builders who have caught on realize a Professional Stager is just one more effective tool in your Marketing Belt and an essential key to getting their homes SOLD.

It has been proven that most buyers looking at a vacant home cannot imagine their things in the home and feel in most cases the rooms are too small. In a home that is occupied, most buyers cannot see past personal items in the home or the clutter that comes with everyday living.

I cannot imagine in this market, which is flooded with homes, telling a seller to just leave their home as is. "Buyers want to see it in its current state, hey, why even bother to take the dishes out of the sink?? You do live here and I am sure they will understand." Meanwhile, the competition has hired a team of Professionals to have their home looking like the Taj Mahal! As an Agent, which would you rather show and sell? As a buyer, which would you rather buy?

A new Trend it suggests as being "IN" is a House Therapist. I thought Real Estate Agents were already doing this as a Standard Practice. I know when I was an active Agent, I wore many hats, among them "Therapist".

I do agree that if Home Staging is not done properly, it will in fact distract the buyer and in turn make them dislike the property. I don't believe EVERY home will benefit from Staging, but it is rare that a property cannot benefit from Redefining it's "LUXE".
