Cold Calls and Cold Runs!

This week Hometown Realty launched their Corporate Partnership Program! A program of real estate benefits that were are providing to companies and organizations that decide to pair up with Hometown! Their employees, members and clients receive fantastic services and benefits...and how do you think companies are going to hear about this wonderful news? I am going to call and tell them...GULP! I experienced my first cold-calling session yesterday. It went well and I made a few contacts and set a few appointments! We are very excited about this great opportunity! Contact me at 804-249-3505 for more details!

So, cold calls is explained...what about Cold Runs?

Hometown has put together a team to run the Monument Avenue 10K in Richmond this year! We are fundraising for Team in Training, a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and we are really excited! The Monument Avenue 10K is a flat, friendly 10K though Richmond's historic fan district. With tree-lined streets, beautiful homes and cheering crowds, it will be a great time for all!

***TIPS FOR HOMEOWNERS***

I actually find this a great help...here I will post monthly chores to make sure your annual maintenance gets done around the house so you can keep that home you bought in great condition. Preventing problems is A LOT more cost effective than fixing them!!

FEBRUARY
1. Make a list of all major indoor projects that need to be done! Prioritize them so you can get the most
urgent ones out of the way before the garden and yard claims your attention.
2. For major projects, call and get estimates now!
3. Check and clean grout between tiles in your kitchen and bath. Regrout if necessary. Add sealer to finish.
4. Check flooring and carpet. Take advantage of sales if it needs replacing or repairing. Its a great time!
5. If you plan to start you own seeds for your garden it may be time to begin. Many seeds take 6-8 weeks
to germinate and be ready to transplant!
6. If you have rose bushes, prune them back to the ideal height of 18".
7. Prepare your empty garden beds for the spring with fertilizer and the rototiller if the soil is dry enough.
8. THIS IS A BIGGIE! This is a great time to reorganize your pantry. Assess what you have on hand and
if you haven't been using stuff, plan a menu that incorporates your unused can or freezer goods.
Donate goods you will not use to a food pantry as long as they have not passed their expiration date.
Wash off the shelves and add a new shelf liner. (Frozen foods go on sale in March...so...use this time
to clean out what you have to take advantage of the savings!!)
9. And finally, if you have some extra time (haha), Organize your laundry area. Replace your ironing
board cover if it needs it and situate your shelving so items used for the same tasks are all together!

I hope you enjoyed the blog and I hope you continue to visit in the future!!!
