Maria Skrip, of RE/MAX Sea Island Realty, attended her first Beaufort Water Festival Bed Race. Yes, in all of these years, I have never attended this event. It was really a fun event (or should I say funny!). The teams had a bed with wheels or a gurney they decorated and wheeled down the road, while the people watching from the crowd shot them with water guns, super soakers, and entire buckets of water! I guess that is where they get the name Water Festival??? Anyway, I wanted to post the results because each of these teams really took time out of their busy schedules to participate.

Chris and Maria Skrip of RE/MAX Sea Island Realty attended the Beaufort Water Festival Tropical Tuesday yesterday evening. The Landsharks, a Jimmy Buffett style band, performed until 11:00 p.m. Rain threatened to spoil the evening, but almost immediately before 7:00, the skys cleared, we had a beautiful sunset and the weather was perfect. The Landsharks played many of Jimmy Buffett's most popular hits, in addition to other beach music. Kristin Miller and Chris and Jen Mahoney attended the event with Chris and Maria.

Click to view an article written in The Beaufort Gazette today about the joint ownership of a new shipping port on the South Carolina side of The Savannah River. When fully approved, the new port should be jointly owned by Georgia and South Carolina. This is a great article written in the Beaufort Gazette about the Town of Port Royal adding moorings near 11th Street. The Town of Port Royal is a boating community surrounded by lovely shops, restaurants, and The Sands Beach.

The moorings should be a great addition to their waterfront.
Rain or Shine, fun was had by all at the Opening Ceremony of the Beaufort SC Water Festival. During the Opening Ceremony, the Marine Corps Band had to stop playing because a lightening storm rolled in. In a valiant effort, the fireworks were shot off a little early, but were still beautiful! Chris Skrip, Maria Skrip, and Mary McClaskey of RE/MAX Sea Island Realty attended on the boat. They were one of only 6 boats anchored at the Opening Ceremony this year. The storms appeared to have scared most people off of the water for the evening. The Beaufort SC Water Festival brings thousands of visitors to our small town each July.
