Don't Like the Weather in Colorado? Wait 5 Minutes...

May snow storm photo 1Colorado's weather in the spring can be beautiful, dramatic, and unpredictable all at the same time.

We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes. It'll change." If you've lived here for any length of time, you know that you can experience multiple changes in the weather climate in a single day. Today was no exception.

May Snow Photo

It started last night with rain and then it turned to sleat. From there, it rotated from hail to snow and then back to rain again. By the time we woke up, 2 inches of snow had accumulated. This weekend, forecasters say the sun will be out again and in the mid 70's.

Our weather is what make Denver, well...Denver. It's an amazing place to live.

6th Avenue Bridge Rolls Out

6th Ave Bridge on WheelsLakewood, May 2, 2010 – Crews building the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) FasTracks West Corridor Light Rail Line re-opened West 6th Avenue 30 hours ahead of schedule, after placing a light rail bridge over 6th Avenue this weekend. The work was completed earlier than expected, allowing crews to re-open the highway just after midnight on Saturday. The westbound lanes opened at 11:30 p.m. followed by the eastbound lanes one hour later at 12:30 a.m. The roll-out of the main span of a double-track light rail bridge across 6th Avenue just east of Simms/Union could have taken up to 30 hours, but favorable conditions decreased that time to just14 hours. Completing operations early and getting 6th Avenue open between Simms/Union and Kipling substantially decreased the impact this closure had on traveling motorists.

All lanes of 6th Avenue closed at 10:00 p.m. Friday night, April 30, and were originally scheduled to open at 5:30 a.m. Monday morning, May 3.  After postponing last weekend, crews successfully
transported the bridge without incident.

Bridge on WheelsThe joint decision by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), RTD  and its contractor to completely close the highway for one full weekend reduced what could have been months of lane closures.  By assembling the bridge on the side of the highway over the past several months and rolling the bridge into place over a weekend substantially minimized the impact to commuters traveling on 6th Avenue.

The 12.1-mile West Corridor light rail project is the first of the FasTracks corridors to start
construction. The West Corridor line will operate between Denver Union Station in downtown
Denver and the Jefferson County Government Center in Golden; serving Denver, Lakewood, the
Denver Federal Center, Golden and Jefferson County. The corridor is scheduled to open to the
public in 2013.

The FasTracks investment initiative is RTD’s voter-approved transit program to expand rail and bus
service throughout the RTD service area. FasTracks will create six new rail corridors, extend three
existing corridors, build 18 miles of bus rapid transit service, add 21,000 new parking spaces,
redevelop Denver Union Station and redirect bus service to better connect the eight-county District.

A Life Preserver - Foreclosure Solution!

What, Me WorryEffective April 5th, 2010, the Federal Government passed new legislature that is tied to the stimulus package regarding mortgage loan modifications and short sales HAMP and HAFA.

The Legislation is designed to help homeowners who are struggling with their monthly mortgage payments OR homeowners with no equity or funds who have to sell.

A life preserver is being offered!

Most of the “big banks” are part of this legislation and are now required to do TWO things.

ONE, they must consider a homeowner’s request for a loan modification QUICKER than before. What this means to you is a far shorter response time (usually 10 days) so you’ll know sooner if you qualify or not.

TWO, homeowners are granted a monetary incentive for “short selling” their home (this means the home sells for less than what is owed on your mortgage). While some restrictions do apply, MOST owners/sellers receive a reward of up to $3,000.00.

If you are turned down for a loan modification, we at Signature Realty are having extraordinary success selling short sale homes. Please consider this option, as it not only costs sellers nothing, but in fact they may be financially rewarded.

We are so excited to announce that we’re now able to assist homeowners with loan modifications for FREE. We do not charge for this service, nor will our partner company 123 Short Sales LLC. MHA Logo

NO ONE should have to pay to receive help with their loan modification or short sale!
