I am a certified with Settlement Room and love the capabilities they offer (a few quirks but overall great product). Well, Settlement Room is being managed by a new firm and the pricing has gone up which has led me to start looking into new platforms to host my agents closing transactions. I have looked into Relay but need to be able to email out for paper trail purposes. What transaction coordination platform do you use? Do you like it? What do you NOT like about the product you are using?

Since I am a real estate virtual assistant and work for more than 1 agent, I would need something that would be able to share info with that agent only so Top Producer would be out. I am considering SharePoint but that is something you have to start from scratch which would not be out of the question but more time consuming...if that makes sense. Anyway, I would love your thoughts!

I LOVE Vista and it appears there are so many functions that I am still constantly learning. Well, I was was in accessory portion of the start menu I noticed Snipping Tool. So...I thought I would check it out. All this time I was using the print screen and the cropping as necessary. THIS IS GREAT! You can copy to your clip board, you can save or email directly from this great tool

This is how it works

To capture a snip

1. Open Snipping Tool by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Snipping Tool.

2. Click the arrow next to the New button, select a snip type from the menu, and then use your mouse or tablet pen to capture a snip.

To capture a snip of a menu

If you want to capture a snip of a menu, such as the Start menu, follow these steps:

1. Open Snipping Tool by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Snipping Tool.

2. After you open Snipping Tool, press ESC, and then open the menu that you want to capture.

3. Press CTRL+PRINT SCREEN.

4. Click the arrow next to the New button, select a snip type from the menu, and then use your mouse or tablet pen to capture the menu.

To annotate a snip

• Use a mouse or tablet pen to write on or around the snip.

To save a snip

1. Click the Save Snip button.

2. In the Save As dialog box, enter a name for the snip, choose a location to save the snip in, and then click Save.

To share a snip

• Click the arrow on the Send Snip button, and then select an option from the menu.

I LOVE IT! It has really been very beneficial in my business, I only wish that I knew about it months ago! If you have found other really cool tricks that would be great to use in our trade. I would love to hear about it.

I have been looking for a computer application to modify certain contact entries for my blackberry. I finally ran across a program that has been around for a while and was curious if anyone out there had tried it or if you use a different application. I know I can sync everything from my outlook and back and forth however there are certain items that do not sync the way I would like

Well, you would think that since I have been in this business for as long as I have and to know the importance of back up.....well this week has proved that you got to make sure your back up source is reliable as well. I have been backing up my family network to a wonderful WD My Book World Edition. Well, we had a power surge (I also have a great UPS system). Well, my NAS no longer powers up and ALL, I mean all, of my data is on that hard drive. WD was great in that they will replace my unit but if I open the unit to get my data off the hard drive, I void my warranty. UGH!!!!

So, if you have not looked at online back up, this may be an opportune time to check them out! A VA friend had recommended Carbonite and another friend had recommended Mozy's. Regardless of which you choose, the price is irrelevant when you consider the consequences...loss of E V E R Y T H I N G

I only wish I purchased the Buffalo 1TB LinkStation Pro Duo Network Hard Drive ( LS-W1.0TGL/R1 ). Now that is a great system

If you have any experience with online back up or mirroring hard drives, I would be curious to know what works for you
