Right now the market is down 77 points, TO is leaving the Cowboys, and the sky is falling!

Here in Kissimmee and Saint Cloud Florida the housing market is at a 7 years low and mortgage rates are even lower. The good news is for the folks ready to purchase a home, there are homes that will yield great returns purchased in today's market. It is not going to be like the past 5 or 6 years where a purchase yields a huge return in 3 years or less, No. That era is gone. But historically home prices rise. It's a long term investment and the track record is there. Call it what you want, a spike, a bubble, or a bobble. It's over. There is only the now. Not purchasing now will have you second guessing later. But Mark, is it going lower? Nobody can answer that. But I can assure you that when the bottom hits, you won't know it either. Only when the market starts back up can you look back and say, yep, that was it.

I do know that through February inventories have declined and sales have increased. I am not an economist but the rules of supply and demand tell me that prices will start to creep up. So, I am willing to guess that we are at or near the bottom. All economists are predicting inflation will be on the rise in the future. That includes home prices!

Loan Pre-Qualification is the first Step. In today's crazy lending market Loan Pre-qualification is a must. This is the first step to buying a home. Loans today are harder than ever to get. Home Buyer Tax Credit gets an upgrade

In an effort to boost the economy and jumpstart real estate sales, Congress recently enacted a bigger and better tax credit of up to $8,000 for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence on or after Jan. 1, 2009 and before Dec. 1, 2009.

This tax credit is $500 higher than the home buying incentive that was included in the legislation passed last summer and it does not have to be repaid.
