Tonight's the night where many kids will be running the roads on Halloween night. It can be a fun experience ( I remember when I was a kid, a few years ago ... ) but you always must keep safety in mind. Here are a few quick tips, mostly common sense tips.
- Be visible (reflective tape, light costumes, etc...)
- Make sure you can see out of your mask
- Make sure you can freely move in your costume so you don't trip
- Use the sidewalks, not the street, whenever possible
- Kids should not be running, take your time and look both ways before crossing the street
- Remind the kids NOT to enter any home
- Know exactly where your kids are going
- Think twice and remind the kids to do the same
As adults we must take extra precaution when driving around this evening. It's a fun night, let's make sure the kids remember the fun part of it!

It's that ime of the year again. A long week-end ( one extra hour ). Time to turn the clocks back.
Just remember that if your house is listed and you are going to get visits, make sure to leave some more light on. It will be getting dark a but ealrier and agents might have some difficulties to open the lock box. Please turn on the porch light. It makes it easier for us.It's also a good idea to leave a few lights on inside the house to make the visit more pleasant instead of having to search for the light switches and turn on all the lights
While you are going around your house this week end, changing all the clocks, radios, etc ... why not check your smoke detectors to ensure that your batteries are still in working order. It will take you an extra minute or two but it could save a life.

WOW, it's October 26th and the market is hot.
A brand new listing hit the mls system last Wednesday. We had 19 visits and 10 couples come through the Open House. This was a beautiful home ,well maitained and on a nice corner lot.
We had six (6) yes ,six offer come in on this great home after being on the market for only 6 days. We met at the house at 6:00PM and wrapped things up by 7:00PM. The house is now SOLD firm. The clients that put the best offer came in at more than asking price with no conditions whatsoever. The Sellers were very happy to see a firm offer, the buyers of the accepted offer were also very happy. Unfortunately 5 couples are not as happy of the outcome.
When you are competing with multiple offers you have to make sure that you put your best offer forward. You might only get one chance.
The Ottawa Real Estate market is still very active so if you are thinking of selling, now's the time.
Good morning everyone in Ottawa. What a great morning to be thinking of buying or selling a home here in the Ottawa Real Estate Market.
There are currently not too many homes for sale in the Ottawa area but there are still many buyers looking for a home to buy. The law of supply and demand also affects the housing market. It has been a very different type of Fall market this year. Usually the market tends to slow down but from what I can see there is no sign of a slow down right now.
The house I listed last week had 19 visits (in only 5 days) and 10 couples at the open house on Sunday, I have been talking to four different agents that will likely be bringing offers on this beautiful home. I am pretty confident that this house will sell this evening when the offers are presented. This is a great position for the sellers to be in. Once we have all the offers we will be selecting the best offer for the sellers. What a great feeling ..... for the Sellers. As far as the Buyers, there will be a few that will be disappointed, not as much fun for them. This means that they will still be looking to buy a home. The market is still going strong.
What does this mean for the Spring market? It's too bad that we can't predict the future. In my opinion this fall market might hurt the Spring market. Why? do you ask. I think that when Spring arrives many people will be thinking "now is the time to sell", A lot of listings will hit the market and because of the higher sale prices (Fall 09) many clients will compare their home with the Fall sales. I am not sure if the prices will be as high in Spring because of having many more listings for sale at that time. Only time will tell. One thing that I do know for sure is that if you are thinking of selling your home, today would be a good day!

This beautiful home just hit the market a few days ago and is getting a lot of visits.
