Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff in Frederick Maryland

Frederick County residents who have household hazardous waste items and want to dispose of them in a safe manner can participate in the fall collection coming up in October.There is no charge to participate in this event. The only requirements is that you must be a resident of Frederick County and all items must be generated by a residence.

The next event will be held on: October 25th, 2008 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Facility, 8349 Reichs Ford Road, Frederick, MD 21704

Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, victim advocate services and legal representation, medical advocacy services for victims of sexual assault, abuser intervention groups, transitional housing, and community outreach and professional education.

Schifferstadt Museum Oktoberfest in Frederick Maryland

Schefferstadt Architectural Museum in Frederick Maryland is featuring Oktoberfest on October 18th and 19th at the Museum, hours 10am-5pm Saturday and noon-5pm Sunday. A festival for the whole family with not only the traditional German oompah band and locally brewed beer, but also a juried crafts show featuring over 30 crafters showcasing their own works from jewelry to paintings to ironwork, baskets, weaving and woodworking. See demonstrations of traditions such as hearth cooking, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving. Visit a colonial heritage garden ready for the harvest. $3 adults.
