I hope to reach prospective clients that require some of the added services we provide as well as Real Estate Professionals who can work with me to fine tune our application of technology.
Cool Feature:
I noticed that the Blackberry Camera allows you to activate GeoTagging. This feature records the GPS position the picture was taken from. Sounded great to me... I had once made an effort to use my film camera (years ago) to record homes I wanted to visit again or perhaps to forward to an interested client. I ended up with great photos and I couldn't remember exactly where they were... so ... useless and expensive.
Application:
Today it is routine for my group to go take a series of photos of a neighborhood and post them for a remote buyer to review. This gives them an idea, beyond the limited MLS photo, what a property is like. The trick has been to caption them with enough information to allow the remote client to understand WHERE these were taken from. Not always an easy task.
If you turn on the GeoTagging feature in your Blackberry (Camera Options...default is OFF) there are many applications that can access this data. The GPS position is stored in a file called an EXIF data file. Anyway... not to digress into tech lands too much... try downloading a free application Picasa (Google's free picture application) and without even another step, Picasa can display these photos on a map!
COOL!
We use this same method to display to our clients what properties FOR SALE BY OWNER are available in and around Corvallis. Follow the link for to see the result:
