One of Yukon Oklahoma's best kept secrets, is the Meadows at Surrey Hills. The Meadows, is a quiet community at affordable pricing. There are several builders and lots to choose from. You can ride your golf cart to the nearby Surrey Hills Golf Course. The commons area has a large club house, and soon the swimming pool will be complete. Also Surrey Hills Elementary is close, and shopping is just minutes away on the N.W. Expressway. Access to all parts of the city is available via the Kilpatrick Turnpike that is just down the street off of Hefner.
Oklahoma Thunder
It's official. The NBA has formally announced the professional basketball team is comming here. The Oklahoma Thunder basketball team is getting a big welcome from basketball fans all over the state. We are happy to live in a community where it continues to go forward and grow in commerce and recreation.
Congresswoman Mary Fallin invited citizens to attend a town hall meeting at the Warr Acres Community Center on Wednesday, August 27th, 2008. Congresswoman Mary Fallin represents the Fifth District of Oklahoma, which includes most of Oklahoma County and all of Pottawatomie and Seminole Counties.
Congresswoman Fallin currently serves on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, the Committee on Small Business, and the Committee on Natural Resources. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the National Republican Congressional Committee, and serves as Small Business Chair on the Republican Policy Committee and Vice Chairman of the Women's Caucus.
Nancy and I were impressed at her enthusiasm and desire to help the district she serves. We wish to support her in anyway we can. Congresswoman Fallin desires public feedback along with prioritization on subjects such as securing the safety of our roads and bridges, making healthcare more affordable, reducing gas prices, balancing the budget, fighting the global war on terror, ending illegal immigration, and strengthening our economy. Below is a link to her website.

AAA breaks ground in Oklahoma City
Thursday August 21 ,2008, AAA broke ground for the new operations center in Oklahoma City. It is said that it will employee over 800 - 1200 people and serve members in several states with travel, insurance benefits, and service. The new building will be 147,000 or 198,000 square feet and energy efficient according to the data available.
We want to welcome AAA to the community. I know they will contribute to our economy while benefitting the residents of the Oklahoma City area.
Oklahoma City is growing every day. A lot of Okies, including myself are quick to be negative about the road conditions and the cost of living. Reality is, that the Greater Oklahoma City area is actually evolving into a city of many attractions and economic value. I am seeing wonderful additions everywhere I look. I have always been partial to the Colorado Springs area. Last fall while attending a sales class, we were taken to an area in the northwest part of the city. It had some really fabulous homes being built that surrounded a nice lake with a walk way. I was pleasantly shocked that such a place was less than 8 miles from my home. Since that time, while meeting clients at other additions, I have discovered areas in all parts of the city that exceed what I can describe.
The
older internal part of the city continues to rebuild and grow also.
It's amazing yet only makes since of the Bricktown development.
There are still lots of areas that could use improvement, but for the
most part this is one big flat city with a lot of potential.
Please
tell us where you live, and what you like about it.
Sincerely,
Rick
