Looking northwest from the shoreline in Driftwood Estates, reveals one more testimony to the logic of living in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Now I ask you, can there be a more peaceful, tranquil place in the world? Where dolphins frolic in Choctawhatchee Bay, birds of all sizes and shapes fill the airspace, while small sea creatures scramble busily at the shoreline... Just another reminder of why we live in Florida!!
This bass weighs over eight pounds. For you fresh water bass enthusiasts, that's the one you spend your fishing life trying to catch. This one was caught from a pond of a few acres which borders on a property I have listed. The sportsman who caught this bass quickly released back into its water. It is the biggest freshwater fish I've ever watched a person catch. The sportsman who caught the fish was gentle with his fishing rod, being careful not to injure the fish unnecessarily. Below is a better picture of the pond/lake. This type of lake is found throughout northwest Florida.
Today was 'Open House' day for the house I showed you on Choctawhatchee Bay. The weather this morning was beautiful, save for a little too much humidity. Then came a few droplets, then the winds, then the torrential downpour. It's just another of those wonderful reasons to live on the northwest Florida gulf coast. The picture is taken from inside looking out against the wind. In fact, during this moment a 'Tornado Warning' was being reported by the national weather service. We're safe and sound, hope our neighbors are!
The next picture was taken moments later, but not through a window.
Topsail State Park, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, is a must see for visitors to northwest Florida, Destin, Sandestin, or Miramar Beach. Campers return year after year. They bicycle, play shuffleboard, fish, swim, hike at the beach and on the park trails, cook out, socialize, and seem to thoroughly enjoy their vacations. I hope you enjoy the pictures, and that you'll come to visit us in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida!!

I happened across this beautiful 1957 Chrevolet in Destin Communs, today, and just had to stop, quick draw my trusty digital camera, and get the drop on the target!! Is this a beauty! Now, here's the best part. The owner caught me dead to rights photographing his Chevy, and assessed me a charge of 25 cents. So we struck up a conversation and this is what I learned. As many of you know, many classic car owners keep their treasures in a special garage, protecting them from rain, sunlight, and of course, the worst of all, we the viewing public! But not Frank Marstall, the owner of this classic '57 Chevy. Frank, his wife, and their son make the pilgrimage to Destin, Florida, annually, all the way from Topeka, Kansas, and in this ride. We'd like to hook the Marstall's up with a great real estate deal in Destin, and keep them (and the 57 Chevy) here all year round. Welcome to Destin 2007, Frank and family, and thanks for driving the Chevrolet!
