Fishing in Florida

This specimen hangs in front of the Bass Pro Shop at Destin Commons, Destin, Florida. Many of our tourists like to take their picture with standing with this big fellow. The second "Jaws" movie was filmed partly in Destin Harbor, some years ago. This shark may have been used in the movie. I remember seeing the first "Jaws" movie,... I was afraid to take a shower for a week!

Butterflies in Florida

Butterfly

It is that time of the year when Santa Rosa Beach, Destin, and Sandestin, Florida real estate are visited by butterflies. We call this one a 'monarch' butterfly. They are magnificent. They flutter about from flower to flower, until they finally collapse. Even in death they remain beautiful. There were also yellow butterflies, and now we see dark colored butterflies which are either black or purple. Our planet is such a paradise..!

Moonlight in Florida

May I offer you one more reason to consider living here with us in northwest Florida? The moon is setting in the west, over a pier on Choctawhatchee Bay, while city lights are visible from Destin, Sandestin, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Come morning, dolphins will frolic in the bay, the young and restless will charge about on jet skies, fishermen will work the bay, or travel through the east pass into the Gulf of Mexico, barges will transport their cargo east and west along the intercoastal water way, and its all just part of another day in paradise.
