These stats are for the 5 counties served by our Multiple Listing Service and are for residential properties only, not including condo's, lots/land.
Inventory is lower in part due to many properties not renewing their listing contracts and waiting until the Spring to do so.
The strong buyers market continues. Buyers still have a great selection to choose from including short sales and foreclosures which generally take some patience as they are slow moving. Low interest rates continue and I can't imagine a better time for buyers/investors in a position to purchase than now. Come see what all gorgeous Western NC has to offer.

A Bone Of Contention For This Pup! Both she and Mr. Willy were given these bones for a treat by a neighbor and they love them and chew on them each day. It's hard to find anything they will play with as all stuffed things get chewed up and eaten instantly so I'm very pleased they enjoy these bones. Willie has one ball he hasn't been able to destroy and protects it kinda like Winnie is trying to do with this bone.
It doesn't matter that there are 2 bones so each would have one. They desire to have the bone the other is coveting. That brings me to this picture. Winnie would not put this bone down for almost a half hour as she tried to hide it in the sofa, in her bed and other numerous places that she must have felt weren't secure enough. What a hoot. She finally put it down at eating time. Now, when one of them is chewing on a bone the other will try to distract them and than make a grab for it!
After pondering this, the only relationship to real estate I can make re Winnie and the bone are the Sellers who want to over price their properties in these market conditions and refuse to "put them down" to a real life figure.

Hendersonville Downtown Christmas in The "Olde Time" Tradition - This Friday 12/02/2011

Tis the season and downtown Hendersonville has the spirit and it will be on display this Friday evening from 4 to 8 PM with some shops remaining open even later.
Besides the Main Street Christmas tree and decorations there will be carolling up and down the street, the trolley will be running and the rides are FREE from noon until 9 PM. Santa will be out and about as well. From 4:30 until 6:30 the Main Street Gazebo will be host to the Hendersonville Middle School playing a variety of music.
There will be a tree lighting at the Visitors Information Center at 4 PM. Operation Toasty Toes, Chapter 7 is dedicating this tree to the armed forces.
Hospice will hold their 21st annual Tree of Lights fundraiser at our Historic Courthouse in the picture above. There will be about 700 luminaria lit mostly purchased in memory of a loved one.
All this plus much more including some wonderful restaurants to enjoy dinner. To read more about it visit the Times-News Online article.
The weather is predicted to be perfect so come on down and enjoy downtown Hendersonville and the Season.

Professional Photographers Needed For This Christmas Project!
Searching the Web for something else I came across this worthy project for our military families with a member deployed overseas.
The Photo Imaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA) joined with the Soldiers' Angels which is a volunteer group. They created this project called "Portraits of Love Project."
They hope to provide 10,000 deployed soldiers with a family portrait.
