Rate of Motion Junior Elite's had a party on the evening of 15th of Novemeber for athletes and parents to come together and have a night of food and fun. Mr. and Mrs. Abrams opend their home up to the team and we want to say one more time, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
There was lots of food, music and movie watching courtesy of the Abrams and the parents and team members all had a fun time.
Rate of Motion Elite will only have 3 practices for the week of November 23rd due to the Thansgiving holiday.
We will be at South Gwinnett High School on Monday and Wednesday and Tues the 25th we will be at Lenora Park.
There will be no practice on Thurday the 27th or Friday the 28th.
Coach Moss and I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their help and support in getting ready for the Rate of Motion Eilite 2009 Indoor Season and we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving. May we all remember to be thankful for this country we have the priviliege of living in and the bounteous blessings and talents that God has given us to enjoy.

Hi Parents, Athletes and interested supporters,
Rate of Motion Elite and Junior Elite Track Club has begun the 2009 indoor track season. Until South Gwinnett completes its high school football Season there will be a few Thursday and Fridays where we will be running at Lenora Park.
Coach Moss and I would like to have a meeting with all the parents on Nov 3 right as practice begins to go over several items and to get everybody on the same page as we begin the push through the indoor season and before everything gets really crazy around the holidays. The kids will start their workout with the Seniors leading them through the warm-up and drills while Coach Moss and I talk with all the parents. If you are unable to come please let Coach Moss or myself know.
We have 2 athletes who have already qualified to run at our last two meets of the season. Kevin Gary and Jonathan (Smooove) Krause have qualified to run at the National Scholastic Indoor in the 200 and 400 meters.
We have almost completed putting together the schedule, we still have one meet that is still tentative but we hope that it will be scheduled soon. If it ends up not being scheduled we have a fall back meet for that same weekend. The meet and practice schedule is on the website at Rate of Motion Elite http://seanrobison.point2agent.com/Rate_of_Motion_ELITE/page_2052009.html and any changes to that schedule will be reflected there.

Starting November 3rd practice we will be going until about 7:30 or as long as our light lasts and so it is important that everybody be at practice by 5. With some athletes’ transportation arrangements they may be there after 5 and we understand.
Coach Moss and myself will always try to be there at 5 but sometimes we are there a few minutes after. The kids know that as soon as they get there they should start doing their 4 lap warm up.
For those athletes who intended to run with their high school team parents, please make sure their high school coach is aware that your son or daughter is running indoor with a club. They will still be able to participate in any high school meets that may com up before we complete the indoor season but until we complete indoor they will be practicing with the club and that season will end on March 13-15. If any coaches have an issue with that please have them call me and I will be happy to talk with those coach(s) and explain. The workout that Coach Moss put together was designed specifically to coordinate with the high school season and will actual put them a bit ahead of their team mates conditioning wise on the high school team when they rejoin their high school teams. I do not anticipate any issues with high school coaches but if there are I would be happy to talk with them and if necessary come to an accommodation. If there are athletes who do not have or do not want to compete on a high school team we do have a few meets that they can go to and compete in. I would strongly encourage all our athletes if possible to participate on their high school teams because it is an important part of their high school and track career.
Concerning Weather: We will make a decision by 4 and communicate that to all parents about that time. If you have not heard anything from Coach Moss or myself by 4:15 then practice is still on. From this point moving forward unless the weather is really nasty we will need to practice to stay on schedule. We are currently working on some alternatives that may help us get out of the weather sometimes but that is still a work in progress.
Everybody does need to be aware that they will need to start dressing in layers because it is going to be getting cool as evening approaches. If athletes have rain gear on rainy days they will need to use it. Once the warm ups come in they are water resistant , have hoods and do a good job of keeping the body insulated and warm. But they do not arrive until late November or early December. Having a skull cap or some other type of hat to keep the head warm as well as a pair of gloves will also be useful to have on hand no pun intended.
Just a reminder that we need to have all required paperwork in ASAP and also make sure that you register your athlete as a member of USATF on or after Nov 1st and print out a copy of your completed registration to give to us so we have proof for these meets that they are members of USATF.
For those who haven’t paid for indoor yet or need to make the other half of their payment for indoor by Nov 1st you can bring it to practice on Nov 3rd. We do need all payments by then so that I can order the speed suits and warm-ups so that we can have them by early December to make sure they all fit correctly.
Holiday Breaks We will be taking a brief break for Thanksgiving we will not practice on Nov 26-28 and for Christmas Dec 24-26. If your family is planning to be out of town over the Christmas break we will have a workout schedule for the athletes to do while they are on vacation. We have a meet the 3rd week of January and in order to stay on the progressions for the season they will need to continue to workout. Our practices over the break we will try to do it earlier in the day since the kids will be out of school.
We will workout on Dec 31st and January 1st .
If you have any persons or companies who would like to sponsor the club they are welcome to do so and we will be making arrangements to have logos, company names or even signatures put on the sleeves of the athletes warm-ups. We will need to have that in place by early December when the warm ups arrive so I can take them to a local t-shirt store to have those logos put on.
We are excited about the season and the caliber of athletes we have running with us and we look forward to a great season with a lot of great accomplishments.
Thanks
Coach Sean & Coach Moss
Hi everyone this is Coach Sean and Coach Moss,

Indoor track season is just around the corner and it looks to be a great first half of the season for Rate of Motion Elite.
To contact Coach Moss you can reach him at rateofmotion@gmail.com, 678-232-9535.
For me, Coach Sean you can reach me by cell phone 770-771-2296 but it is usually quickest to communicate with me is by email, rateofmotion2@gmail.com
If there is anyone who you know was not included in this email if we can get their contact information we can add them to the distribution list.
We have a number of housekeeping items to go over with everyone.
Practice will start on Oct. 6th at 5pm at South Gwinnett High School. On Thursday's if there is a game schedule at South Gwinnett we will practice at Lenora Park, If there is a game on Friday we will practice at Lenora Park. We will do our best make sure that everyone knows if we will be at practing at Lenora Park.
The cost is $250 but that can be paid in several ways. I know everyone is dealing with tight budgets so you can pay $125 on Oct 1st or you can bring it with you on the Oct 6th and then pay the other $125 on November 1st. You can pay online at the website or you can pay by check. I am hopeful that we will have the business account opened up so that you can make the check payable to Rate of Motion Elite Track Club.
We need to have all the money by November 1st so that we can order Warm-ups, speed suits and t-shirts. There is about a 4 or 5 week turnaround because this will be a custom order.
For those athletes who ran with us last year we already have a copy of your birth certificate on file but we do need an update liability waiver and registration form and a current copy of you physical. If you have one for running with your high school team we just need a copy of that.
For those who are running with Rate of Motion for the first time, welcome and we do need a filled out Registration form, Liability waiver and current phyiscal form and a copy of your birth certificate. The forms can be downloaded and printed from the website. If you have a current physical with any school system we simple need a copy of the current form.
Everyone needs to register with USATF as an athlete. Parents, you can also register as a parent if you would like you don't have to but at some meets you get in free or at a discount and there are also lot of other discounts available to you as a member of USATF. I would urge everyone to do it online it is fast, simply and secure. Please print a copy of your registration confirmation and give that to us we need have verification that everybody is a member of USA Track and Field. DO NOT RENEW OR BECOME A MEMBER OF USATF UNTIL November 1ST OTHERWISE YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 31ST OF THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF December 31ST OF NEXT YEAR.
Make sure that athletes have the proper running shoes. The spikes can be purchased later because spikes are dependent on the type of races the athlete is running. All information about shoes is in the handbook which you can be downloaded and printed off of the website. Please parents and athletes take time to read the handbook. We put it together so that a lot of questions that come up can be answered from the handbook.
We have a fundraiser going right now with the Entertainment Book, you can click on the link in the signature below for more information. If you have family or friends that live out outside of Metro Atlanta they can purchase the Entertainment book for their area and help Rate of Motion with our fundraising at the same time. If you have family or friends that would like to help sponsor your athlete or the club they can make a donation online with a major credit card. If they have or setup a PayPal account and use the PayPal account to make the donation normal credit card transactions charges will not apply. We are always open to other ideas for fundraising to help lessen the financial burden that is involved in having a son or daughter in sports.
We have asked Regina Williams(Clarissa's Mom) to serve as President of the club. La-Tavia Shanks (Quandra's Mom) to serve as Treasurer of the club. And Claudia Abrams (Chris's Mom) to serve as the Secretary. We have asked them to help us with keeping the parents informed and organized as we move through the Indoor Season and when we get into the summer outdoor season. Regina is a little preoccupied right now getting ready for one of her daughter's Wedding.
Coach Moss and I really excited about the upcoming indoor season and the quality of young people running with us and what we will be able to accomplish as Rate of Motion Elite Track Club. If any of the athletes are planning to run with their high school teams for the high school season they can run and they will most likely have a few meets before we finish the indoor season but they will need to practice with us until the indoor season is complete which will be March 12-15, in New York City, . They will be ahead of their counterparts when they move back into practice with their high school teams. If their high school coaches have any questions please feel free to have them call Coach Moss or myself and we would be happy to talk with them.
For most of our meets we will be leaving on Friday evening checking into the hotel getting something to eat and lights out by 10:30. We will compete on Saturday and then come home Saturday evening. The schedule might be a little different for the University of Florida meet because they are trying to have some clinics for athletes and coaches. We will make sure everyone knows if the schedule is different.
Here is the meet schedule for our Indoor Season:
January 16-17 Clemson Invitational
January 23-24 Eastern High School Challenge at UNC-Chapel Hill
February 7-8 Gainesville Sports Commission Indoor Classic
February 20-21 University of Kentucky High School Classic
March 12-15 National Scholastic Indoor Championships
There is at least one meet that Coach Moss and I will be running at in the Open and Masters division which will be fun to watch.
We try to keep everything about the club updated on the website so that we have one source for all the information. The calendar is there with all the meets and important dates listed.
We also have a blog which is really active during the season. Rate of Motion Elite Blog
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call myself or Coach Moss and we will answer them for you.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors:
homesbuysean.com and Foxparc Team Real Estate for sponsoring the Rate of Motion Elite Track Club web site
Mark and La-Tavia Shanks and Olde Time Trucking for their generous financial support.
The parents of all our athletes without you we wouldn't have a team. THANK YOU!
Thanks
Coaches Moss & Sean

Well fall is right around the corner and it brings with it many changes not the least of which is the simple change in season.
As Realtors and Loan officers it has been a difficulit year and it appears that the market correction has taken its toll since there are not as many Realtors or Loan officers out there now as there were at the beginning of the year. I am hopeful by the end of year that the market may begin to turn around, although I do not see a full recovery coming until at least mid year next or later. All the data I read from the "experts" seems to point that direction. I would just tell everyone to hang in there don't get rusty or slack with your professionalism and find some way to contribute to the community in other ways so you don't go stir crazy.
On a postive note my father in law just opened a new resturant Papa's Dog House in Boise, Idaho and its first day was a huge success. From the time they opened until they closed it was a heavy stream of people who were wanting to eat a gourmet hot dog, he has 13 different kinds of dogs and sausages for those who don't like that he also has hamburgers and sloppy joes. It is nice to know that some traditional symbols are still vogue in America. So the next time your in Boise, Idaho I would urge you to go and have a dog at Papa's Dog House.

For those who watched the Olympics it was exciting to see and we had many athletes who did very well, if Michael Phelps isn't yet a household name he soon will be. Team USA Track had a great run in spite of some missteps in a couple of relays. Plans are already in the works to have representation on Team USA from Rate of Motion Elite and to be in London for the Games of the 30th Olympiad.
Many of our athletes are involed in Fall sports and for a few of them their opening game is Friday night. Kevin Gary, CJ Green, Cortez "Tez" Johnson and Derrick "Drock" Brown begin their football season against Norcross Friday night at South Gwinnett at 7;30pm.
Roogery "Roo" Rosemberg, Chris and Leia Abrams, have been working out in the evenings just doing general conditioning to stay in shape before our practices begining the first full week of October for the Indoor season.
Rate of Motion will hold its annual awards banquet on Saturday the 30th at Lenora park at 4pm to recognize all who participated, volunteered or helped us out during the 2008 Summer Track and Field Season. Its a potluck so there should be lots of really good food since I know we have a lot of really good cooks among our parents.
As we move into the Labor Day Weekend I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday and that everyone has the chance to eat some good food and take the time to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of summer.
