Most of the closing assignments that I receive are through title companies and signing services from all over the US. Upon acceptance, I confirm the appointment with the signer(s), print the documents, drive to the respected location and notarize the signature of the signer(s). The loan documents are then shipped by either UPS or FedEX to the title company or lender. Lastly, the closing status and a shipping tracking # are sent via email or fax.
Occassionally, someone in the general public has loan documents in hand and instructions to locate a notary, since many loan documents need notariztions (i.e. Mortgage/Deed of Trust, Name Affadavidts, etc). Banks have notaies on staff, but are busy and may not be willing to notarize numerous documents.
There is an alternative.
