Is it girls golf or womens golf well Cal State Fullerton has a new program !!!!

It has been more then twenty years since Fullerton has had a golf team and this year it will be reinstated. The head coach for both the mens and women's team will be Jason Drotter. Orange County has a great group of golfers who need a close college to go to. Fullerton starting this program and will give those students with the talent a great opportunity. The golf program will be competitive with an experienced Coach which is a combination for success. The first year should be great with this solid foundation. The team will be a tough team to beat.

Wachovia Helping Borrowers in Default with Loan Modifications Will it stop Foreclosures

As defaults increase and officials start to pressure banks to modify loans so they can avoid foreclosure, Wells Fargo is offering to cut mortgage balances for some customers of Wachovia by twenty percent. They did this buy sending letters to borrowers that asked for proof of income and a income tax statement form 2007. In my opinion twenty percent may not be enough because values have dropped thirty to forty percent but it is a good start. Hopefully other major banks will start helping people in trouble.

My Pup Olive at the Huntington Dog Beach California

My dog Olive is a five month old Maltese Terrier Australian Shepherd. She is full of energy even after running a couple miles down the riverbed with me. Me and my family needed to find a way to expel that energy. One way that we found very effective was taking her to the park but we couldn't keep up . Later we found out a bunch of the dogs in our neighborhood meet up around five at the park near by. Taking your dog to a dog park is great for not only expelling energy but also socializing them. socializing is very important and if it is started at the right time your dog will be very well behaved around other dogs. Which means no dog fights. My pup has been going there for quite a while now and cannot get enough. Olive loves chasing other dogs and wrestling them. Another thing Olive loved was the Huntington dog beach. It is located on the West side of PCH between Sea Point St.on the North and 21st St. on the South. There are tons of dogs there that are friendly and love to play. At first Olive freaked out because of the sand and water and tons and tons of water. She got over it in about five minutes and ended up not wanting to leave. If you have a dog you should really treat them to a trip to the dog beach or the dog park they deserve and I promise you won't be bored it is very entertaining

Say It Isn't So !! Don't Go Chief Mc Kinley !!!!

Our own beloved Fullerton police Chief Pat McKinley is set to retire this coming May, after 44 years of dedicated service. We don't want him to go!!

FULLERTON Police Chief Patrick McKinley, who has led his department for 15 years, has announced he will retire May 1, 2009.

McKinley, 67, previously spent 29 years with the Los Angeles Police Department.

"I've accomplished everything I wanted to do," McKinley said Thursday. "I designed the exterior body armor to get the weight off the kids' hips, oversaw the building expansion with more windows and integrated the department in more county and state issues.

"It's better to go out on the crest of a wave than in a trough," McKinley said.

City Manager Chris Meyer called McKinley's decision "the end of an era for the police department." A "wide-ranging" recruitment process will begin in January, he added.

McKinley said it's time for a different look at leadership, "a new energy."

Anaheim Police Chief John Welter, president of the Orange County Chiefs and Sheriff's Association, said with McKinley's retirement, law enforcement would lose a lot of institutional knowledge in the area of policy.

"He's a great guy with common sense and an expert in the field," Welter said. "Police chiefs look to guys like him for help and knowledge."

Fullerton police Capt. John Petropulos, who has worked with McKinley the entire 15 years, said: "We're all saddened. I've always acted on the belief everyone can be replaced, but Chief McKinley is the only person I've met who is an exception to that rule."

Born in South Dakota, McKinley decided after serving in the Air Force to follow in the law enforcement footsteps of his grandfather, a deputy sheriff in South Dakota.

During his years with the LAPD, McKinley was instrumental in the formation of the Special Weapons and Tactics squad - which was the first in the nation.

In Fullerton, he focused on modernizing officers' equipment including the design of a new body armor that redistributes the weight of the vests to reduce back injuries.

McKinley is involved in community outreach, teaches police tactics and self-defense courses at Fullerton and Rio Hondo colleges and counter-terrorism for the U.S. State Department.

Among the "most intriguing incidents under my command," McKinley recalled the devastating Laguna Beach fires of 1993.

"We arrested a man whom we believed was the arsonist," McKinley said. "He took us to the ignition point, told us how he did it and showed us pictures of fire gods he had drawn.

"But the Mexican government said he was imprisoned at the time, and couldn't have been at the scene," McKinley said. Charges were never filed.

However, Fullerton police arrested the same suspect for starting a small fire against a fence in the city, and the man was sentenced to 12 years in prison, McKinley said.

Through the years, McKinley has received numerous honors including the Award for Excellence in Community Service from the Mojave Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for his "She Bear" self-defense program for women.

Retirement plans include teaching, consulting, working on a book and spending time on his 29-foot boat from which he swims and free dives regularly.

McKinley and his wife, Barbara Ann, plan to continue making Fullerton their home upon retirement.

"And I plan to spend a lot more time visiting our two sons and 'grandpa-ing' our three grandchildren," he said.
