WATCH FOR CANCELLATIONS OF TRUSTEE SALES

When you are in the market to purchase a property at one of the trustee sales at the court house steps, you need to check for cancellations before attending the sale. It is natural for mortgage borrowers to do what they can do to avoid foreclosure. Many loans are reinstated at the last moment and many borrowers file for bankruptcy protection to stop the foreclosures.

The following is a good example of cancellations. This is the trustee sale schedule for Alex Cooper Auctioneers for this week. It covers properties in Montgomery County, MD.

Most of the properties that are sold at trustee sales are acquired by to secured mortgage lenders. Bidders are competing with the lenders for the properties.
