Wonderful Networking Group in Bucks County, PA - Women's Business Forum!

I was a member of the Women's Business Forum when I was working locally a few years ago. The organization is really very high quality.

When I started working again recently, one of the first things that I did was to join the organization again, and the updates and changes are wonderful.

The meetings are free. There is also a free membership. I recommend upgrading if you start networking with us and enjoying the benefits of being involved with the group. The Supporting membership is just $95 a year.

It was hard for me to make the monthly meetings in Doylestown in the past, even though they were always very good. Now I find that they have added a Newtown chapter that is much closer to me and meets at lunchtime instead of the morning/evening meetings in Doylestown.

I tried my first Newtown meeting last Friday, and had a wonderful time. There were 10 participants, I believe, and they were all bright and welcoming.

The leaders of the Newtown group are Lucy A. Steitz from Corestates Capital Advisors and Sonia Smith from the Bucks County Department of Community and Business Development. Because they were celebrating the first anniversary of the group in Newtown, Lucy brought a pan of brownies, and we celebrated.

The meeting included a Mastermind session to help attendees get ideas on improving their business or their personal challenges. We broke up into two groups of about 5 each for that. The ideas were free flowing, and we were assured that all information was confidential so that we could speak freely.

I am on my way to the evening meeting in Doylestown tonight. That is a much larger group, and I am looking forward to the networking there.

I highly recommend that you visit the website at http://www.womensbusinessforum.org if you are within driving distance on the Pennsylvania or New Jersey areas.

If you are not in our area, do a search on meetup.com or on a search engine for opportunities to network in person and develop relationships in your local area.

Getting started with Social Networking for Women working at home

It is very important to be comfortable online when working from home in this day and age. You can meet people that are local to you or anywhere around the world depending on where you network!

Find the places that will help you to meet the people that you want and need to meet!

Having profiles online helps you in a number of ways. It puts your "shingle" out so that people see you. It helps people to see if they want to know you better. It helps the SEO (being found on search engines like google) of your website that is mentioned on the profiles.

Fill out your profiles and always include a photo. Don't leave blanks in your profile, and go back and update them as you add to your expertise and learn more about how to describe yourself and your business.

I am not recommending that you do any profile upgrades unless you want to. You will get major benefits by using the free profiles and meeting people on the sites.

It is important to decide if you are an "open networker" or if you are going to be more selective in your connections. In building a business, consider being open. You never know who will be a great referral source, or a new friend. If you are not used to a lot of emails and announcements, you might want to get a new gmail account for networking sites so that you do not have a flood in your regular email account.

I am giving you my link to each of the sites so that you can start by connecting to me and have your first friend on the sites.

Important sites to start with:

1. Linkedin.com my page is http://www.linkedin.com/in/sallykwitt - I will write additional posts to teach you about using the different aspects of the site. You can ask people that know you to write references for you.

2. Facebook business page my page is http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-REAL-and-profitable-opportunity/125620737513110 Facebook is one of the biggest and busiest websites now. Make sure that you are seen there.

3. Visible.me used to be naymz http://visible.me/sallykwitt - get people that know you to write referrals for you.

4. Twitter.com Very important to get your word out! http://www.twitter.com/sallykwitt

5. My Linking Power Forum A wonderful place run by my good friend Vincent Wright. You will meet other people that love to connect and network. http://mylinkingpowerforum.ning.com/profile/SallyKWitt

6. CafeMom is a great place to share with other women and mothers. This might be a good fit for you. http://www.cafemom.com/home/sallykwitt

Make sure and join groups available on the sites, and be brave - get your message and your personality out there.

Ask about other people and what they do. Remember them to give referrals when appropriate, and ask them to do the same.

Networking online is a great way to build your business.

Can you make money with a part time online business?

05-12-11

Answer these questions about your own situation: If you can say yes to at least 3 of these questions, then you have the "right stuff" and can be successful in an online business.

1. Can you be efficient and learn to duplicate successful actions a few times a week? It is great to be creative and learn a lot of new things, but there are a handful of basic things that you can do that will bring you success week after week.

2. Do you have self-discipline. Can you commit to 10 hours a week for your online work? Can you dedicate some time without distraction, and follow a checklist for creating new business, marketing activities, and following up with current prospects every week?

3. Do you have some people in your life that respect your opinion if you ask them to look at something? Neighbors, other parents in your school, friends and family. Ask for their opinion on your new business, and ask if they know anyone that might need your products or services.

4. Are you comfortable with online networking, developing relationships? Can you chat with people and feel comfortable meeting people online so that you have a casual relationship before you present your business proposal?

5. Will you follow up with people that express and interest by an email or reply on a social network? Don't waste the opportunity to work with someone who has already "raised their hand" to ask about your business.

6. Do you have another business with satisfied clients or customers who would listen to a new idea from you? For example - If you are a real estate agent or broker, and insurance agent, or accountant, then you probably have a great list of people that respect you and you can share a new product or service with them.

One piece of advice, find someone to help you so that you don't just stay in a training mode forever. Move forward, make money, be successful!
