Technology Tip For My Husband-Kodak "Printing On The Go!"

Technology Tip For My Husband-Kodak "Printing On The Go!"

Are you kidding! I clicked on the contests and read the Kodak-"Printing On the Go" Blog and thought I actually might have a tip for my very techie husband that will be news to him.

Thom Pulling Hair OutMy wonderful husband and business partner with The Corrigan Group, Thom, is one of those people that had the first MAC ever, the first Bag phone-you get the picture. It is rare that I share a technology tip that he has not know about for months.

We bought a wireless printer (name shall go unsaid) this year for our home office. i have a MacBook Air and Thom has tried many times to get me set up to print to it and this printer just does not like me or my cute MacBook Air I guess.

When I read this contest blog I was overjoyed at the possibility that I will not have to write something on my computer and then transfer the document to a thumb drive or email it and then open up that email on the computer that the existing wireless printer likes and then print.

This is awesome, Kodak! I am really jazzed about your "cloud printing" option. My children will also be very happy as they often come over to our house and have to print something and it is always a hassle. This is going to save a ton of time!

And this will be great to set up at our Keller Williams office as well. We have been re-organizing, throwing things away, giving things away and selling old working printers this week. I still look at all the cables and wires and think, "Someone should come out with more wireless options.Kodak you did it! I am thankful.

Now if you could just create wireless power!

It Took A Toilet To Change My Thinking!

It Took A Toilet To Change My Thinking!

Three times a weToiletek I go to a doctor who for over 50 years has helped people create breakthrough in releasing weight forever. A couple of years ago I found him and lost a serious amount of weight, over 50 lbs. I am like many who have now gained some weight back and thankfully not all of it.

I made the mistake last time of not going through the entire program and quit at the most critical stage which is maintenance. I now call the maintenance phase the "sustaining it" phase. I have made a promise to myself to complete the entire program and sustain my efforts for life.

This program takes a commitment of my time, money and daily practice. Daily journaling, three coaching and accountability sessions per week, a customized and reduced calorie plan, exercise and practicing a new way of being in a food laden world are important aspects of my plan.

Monday morning I woke up and as usual weighed in at home. I was very discouraged as my weight was up. I considered not going to my coaching session and avoiding the pain of the day's reality. i made the decision to face the truth.

I drank a lot of water that morning and always use the bathroom before my weigh in. As i flushed the toilet, the tank, not the bowl overflowed. I went to get a nurse to let her know there was a problem. As I showed her what was happening to the tank, she pulled the cover off to see if she could fix it.

At the moment she lifted the tank lid off, the small hose which had become detached acted as a fire hose and totally doused me with ice cold (thankfully clean) water. I gasped as this was a like a plunge in a cold pool. And then something remarkable happened. I started laughing. I started laughing at myself.

The nurse was mortified and apologized and I just kept laughing.

As my nurse talked to my very wet self about my journal and process and heard my discouragement about my weight gain, she asked me, "Why does it have to be all or nothing? " "Why does it have to be perfect?" As i thought of the answers to her questions, I realized that I needed and had the power to get rid of the thought viruses that had infected my mind. She had asked these questions for me to consider what was really going on so that I could change my current thinking patterns and programming.

It began to make sense to me that this experience was a picture of other areas of my life where i had agreed to patterns and programming that do not serve me well. I also saw that i have the power to do something about these limiting beliefs.

How many of us take the time to think about the events that have happened in our past or even when they happen now and then consider what meaning we have attached or can attach to the events in our lives? We do have a choice to make a story up (and we often do) about events in the past and tell ourselves and others our "victim" stories. I suggest that we can look for a better story and walk through life in a much more empowered state.

This choice is mine and yours everyday. And sometimes it takes a dose of cold water even from a toilet to wake us up to laughter, joy and the decision to change old patterns and programs.

I hope you will take some time to reflect on the events in your life, the stories you have told yourself about what those events mean and then write a new version of the meaning to those events. You might just find yourself feeling happy, joyful and perhaps even laughing your way to a new reality of an empowered state for your life.

And if you need a catalyst find a broken toilet and pull the lid off. The cold water dousing might just release what needs to change for good!

"Bring Your Business Back to Life" Business CPR in Denver!

Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to be with The Crankset Group at the weekly Business Leaders Insight lunch at Del Friscos in the Denver Tech center. This event is still the best kept secret in Denver for small business owners (although we are not trying to keep it that way). The featured guest was Pam Atherton, Los Angeles Talk Show host, whose guest line up has included a wide variety of folks such as Buzz Aldrin, Ted Kennedy, Harvey McKay, Madeleine Albright, Kenny Loggins, Weird Al and many more!

Besides Pam's brilliant marketing ideas and her polished presentation style, I like that Pam is the "real" deal. Upon meeting her, it felt like I had known her along time. She was sincere, not full of herself and genuinely interested in creating relationships with people that have as she put it, a "spirit of generosity".

In that spirit of generosity, Pam and Julie Gentry (The Ultimate E) will be hosting a Business CPR workshop for women (men you can actually attend, although Pam said to wear a skirt!) in the Denver Tech Center, Wednesday June 22 from 6 PM to 9 PM. It is free and you can register at www.businesscprworkshop.com. We had a taste at lunch today of the great ideas that will be a part of the menu tomorrow night! I can't wait!

Everyday I run across business owners who are looking for a place to get help, say, "I don't know" and find ways to get off the treadmill. I appreciate The Crankset Group and people like Pam Atherton who intend to provide real help to those of us who are conating towards building businesses that serve our client's needs, offer the people in our companies opportunities and afford us, as business owners, real strategies to achieving our ideal lifestyles.

Thanks for coming to Denver, Pam and sharing yourself with us! And thanks, Julia, Nora, Chuck and Diane and all of you at The Crankset Group, who make such a difference in our business community in Denver!

Bank of America You Are Still A Mess!

Bank of America You Are Still A Mess!

Nine months ago a sweet couple who ran into a series of bad events and an ever softening real estate market called us to ask us to short sale their condo. A few short years ago they bought it new for 140K and this same condo is now worth about 70K or less.

The problem is not getting offers or a contract. We have had an amazing buyer hang in this transaction for six months.

Now after 8 negotiators and a BPO which came in for less than the contract price, Bank of America wants more money and more paperwork!

I am not a complainer by nature. In fact almost everything I blog about is upbeat and positive.

I have had it with our banks and our financial institutions. We have a full time, experienced short sale team who works with an attorney group working to get this done. Bank of America brags on a regular basis about their amazing help to consumers and the real estate industry. Bank of America you have failed miserably this time.

Today I was at my local grocery store and noticed the bank located in the store is offering a whopping 2.22% when you open an account! Wow this is so awesome, until you consider that it costs most home buyers about 5% to buy a home. It gets even worse as a college student getting a school loan today is going to pay about 8.5% for their education.

Greed is at the core and I for one am standing up today to speak about how wrong this is. I want to see real change in our country and in our world. My prayers are that men and women with integrity will be put into positions of authority to bring about the kind of change we really need.

Besides speaking up, a few of us are meeting regularly to pray and work toward what is needed. Even in the midst of being angry and disappointed I believe that we can see things turn around.

I hope you will join me in praying and being part of the voices that are speaking up and working together to find good solutions for the problems we encounter today.

Let goodness, honesty and integrity prevail!

Miracles Still Happen!

Miracles Still Happen!

On this windy and bright Sunday in Highlands Ranch, Colorado I can not help but reflect on the amazing love and joy that I personally witnessed Friday night in Castle Rock, Colorado as my husband and I watched a little boy who was born with CP at 16 weeks walk with no crutches or walker.

We took this video with our iphone! There was not a dry eye in the place.

Pray and our belief for the impossible really do make a difference!

Be Inspired!
