My family was coming here for the holidays and there was so much to do. Many late nights were spent on cleaning, decorating and cooking. Then came the dry throat, then dry throat that became the sore and burning throat. Time was short, so the doctor was not called. Instead the medicine basket was raided. There is was - a partial bottle of medication! It was a prize that worked last time! No the doctor was needed; the cure was there in my hand.
A week later, a call was made to the doctor, the symptoms were still there, only worse. The doctor's nurse returned the call. It turns out that what I had thought was a prize - a cure - was the wrong medicine. In fact, it actually made me worse.
I should have called the doctor, a professional, who is trained and specialized in the field of sicknesses and medicines, made and an appointment and got the proper medication. My illness probably would not have gotten as bad or lasted as long as it did.
It was at this time, it occurred to me, "I had become a FSBO!"
I missed diagnosed myself, took the wrong medication causing myself to suffer longer, because only a doctor - a trained professional would know how to prescribe the right medication. No time or money was saved. Instead the sickness lasted longer and I was out of work longer.
It's just like trying to sell your house as a FSBO. Most are not priced or staged right, causing it take longer to sell and usually sell for less and take longer, than if it were priced right at the beginning.
It just goes to show you that you should always call a professional !!!
