California State University in Northridge, California, centrally located in the San Fernando Valley is anxiously anticipating the completion of the new Valley Performing Arts Center which is located in close proximity to the college campus.

When completed in Fall 2010, the Valley Performing Arts Center will include a 1700 seat concert hall, a 200 seat flexible experimental theatre, classrooms. laboratories, rehearsal space, and offices, as well as a large lecture hall. It will also house the College's KCSN-88-5 FM radio station.

As it has for years, the college continues to provide the community and the surrounding valleys the opportunity to enjoy the more than 250 performances and screening each year. The Valley Performing Arts Center will be a welcome addition to cultural attractions in the San and screenings each year.

Woodland Hills, CA, is located in the South Western end of the San Fernando Valley. The over 62,000 residents enjoy the mostly year-round, moderate climate. In high demand are the Woodland Hills award winning schools.

The San Fernando Valley is surrounded by mountain ranges and consists of many districts, each with its own characteristics. Originally farms, ranches and citrus orchards, (Some trees are still on properties) tracts of homes were built in the 1950's and 1960's. Development continued, moving into the Northern and Western end of the Valley as demand for homes in the suburbs increased.

Warner Center, the hub of the business district, is located in the heart of Woodland Hills with over 1,100 acres. It is a planned community with a variety of housing including condominiums, apartments, retaiil and offices. There are two major shopping centers and smaller centers which provide services. Single family homes which include luxurious, hillside view homes surround the area. Concerts in Warner Park are a popular event, produced by the Warner Center Cultural Center.

Woodland Hills is about 26 miles to Los Angeles Civic Center with its many cultural activities: Performances at the Music Center and Disney Hall. Staples Center offers many sports and other events. There is a diverse selection of shopping available in the downtown area. Residential opportunities are currently being created and purchased as a new resurgence of buyers are choosing to live near their work as well as being able to enjoy the convenience of local entertainment, restaurants and shopping. Freeways and mass transit provide popular visits to Universal Studios, Disneyland, Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood and other attractions.

Enjoyable visits to the the Pacific Ocean beaches are a frequent, enjoyable trip. The expansive, beautiful coastline is within an hour's drive over scenic mountain roads or freeways. You may find the scenic drive so appealing that you continue to drive the coastline to the Northern beach areas with their own special appeal.
