Great Outdoor Fun this Weekend in Santa Clara County

On Friday ~ August 15, 2008, Saturday ~ August 16, 2008 and Sunday ~ August 17, 2008 The Comedy of Errors will begin at 7:00pm at Sanborn Park. Although Sanborn Park is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains it is managed by the County of Santa Clara in the beautiful State of California.

The Comedy of Errors is filled with confusion and laughter involving two sets of identical twins. A master and his servant are mistaken for their counterparts. The show lasts slightly less than 2 hours. Enjoy an affordable outdoor family event this weekend at Sanborn Park in Santa Clara County.

The Comedy of Errors is free however there is a $6.00 fee for parking. At the end of the show everyone is given an opportunity to make a donation.

Almaden Lake Park, San Jose, California

Almaden Lake Park is my favorite park in San Jose.

Almaden Lake is the only City Park in South San Jose that has a sand beach and swim area. I recall earlier this year watching the City of San Jose workers spread mounds of fresh white sand over the beach area to prepare for the opening on the new season.

I feel the same way about visiting Almaden Lake Park as I do going to the beach at Half Moon Bay. I prefer to be there with few people and be among the wildlife. Earlier this year I experienced several families of geese and duck and other fowl with their babies. I visited two to three times a week with several loaves of bread. It got to the point where the geese would see me standing at the lakes edge - each time at the same location - and they would automatically begin to make their way toward me.

The geese look like Olympic swimmers as they compete to be the first to reach the shore. They literally walk right under my feet and begin to peck at my pant legs for food. It is amazing to watch the babies grow too, not only in size, but in how their bodies transform and the sounds they make to communicate with their parents.

Clearly most people visit Almaden Lake to play, for family gatherings, BBQ's, private parties and to practice their skills on the Bocce Ball courts.

This year on Mother's Day my son and I did something different. We typically go to Hayes Mansion for an amazing champagne brunch. Because my son recently adopted Molly, from a local animal shelter, and because dogs are allowed on the east side of the park, we decided to take Molly to Almaden Lake for a picnic lunch. After lunch we took a walk on the Los Alamitos Creek Trail which is very scenic and continues to the backyard of many Almaden homes. Most people were simply enjoying a casual walk that day, however a few were running, biking, skating, and some were working the fitness course which runs along he trail.

Many of my clients who live in Almaden Valley frequently walk, run and ride the Los Alamitos Creek Trail. Almaden has more to offer than award winning schools however the award winning San Jose schools are the primary reason many of my clients choose to move to Almaden.

Almaden Lake Park is Located at the corner of Almaden Expressway - Coleman Avenue and Winfield Boulevard in San Jose. Almaden Lake is one of many parks and recreation sites within the City of San Jose.
