What's Your Reason?

This post is to generate awareness for a fundraising effort being undertaken by an agent in my office.

Ryan ChristensenRyan Christensen is a young real estate agent and avid mountain climber. He had committed to climb two of the world’s tallest mountains this summer in The Climb to Fight Breast Cancer 2008. Raising money for breast cancer research at the Fred Hutchinson Clinic in Seattle.

However, like most mountain climbs this story has a twist and this is where you can help. Ryan had his tonsils removed in March. Most of the time tonsils are a simple procedure and you are back living life within a few days. Ryan was not so lucky. There have been three surgeries and multiple visits to the emergency room along with seventeen units of blood. Just now Ryan is starting to feel better. This all happened without insurance. Ryan does not complain about anything and is one of the most positive and upbeat people I have been lucky to be associated with in real estate. With over $100,000 in medical bills to deal with Ryan is struggling to make the time to do the necessary fundraising to generate the needed funds required that he has committed to for the climbs. This is why I am taking advantage of the power of Active Rain on his behalf.

He will not be able to climb Mt. Elbrus as he will not be healthy enough in time. He will be able to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Your contributions to Ryan’s climb can make a huge difference to both Breast Cancer research and to Ryan. Please visit Ryan’s site WhatsYourReason.Org to learn more and to contribute.

Breast Cancer RibbonYour contributions to Breast Cancer research are tax deductable. If you choose to donate to support Ryan and the climb directly the donations are not tax deductible but will be a huge relief to a young man who has a huge heart and wants to make a difference for others. Ryan had set a goal to raise $30,000 for Breast Cancer Research. He needs $8,500 for the basic expenses of the climb. He has corporate sponsorships that are helping with supplies and equipment.

I will close with this. What’s Your Reason?
