The 75th Daffodil Parade will be held on Saturday April 12th! (In honor of my birthday)(Just kidding it's just a coincidence) The parade starts in Tacoma and goes through Puyallup, Sumner, and Orting. There will be close to 40 floats filled with Daffodils. Over 80 other entries, including marching bands, mounted units, ROTC groups etc.
The history of the Daffodil Parade is a long and rich. I have included a link that takes you to the Daffodil Parades history page.
The Children’s Daffodil Parade will be held April 5th. Starting at 10am in the Proctor District This will be the 47th. For more information click here.
The Daffodil Parade is one of Tacoma’s grand traditions and a source of civic pride. I hope to see many of you line the streets to watch the parade!

The available housing inventory in the Greater Tacoma Washington area has been increasing the past few months.
Recent number show that the inventory in the following areas has reached upwards of 14 months. The largest amount of inventory is in the Gig Harbor area with 16.7 months worth of inventory on the market.
Inventory levels are calculated by how many months it would take to sell the existing number of homes on the market at the current pace of home sales in the specific area.
I anticipate that the inventory levels will drop as we enter the spring and summer sales periods. With the existing inventory on the market there are many opportunities for buyers to find a home that will meet both their needs and their financial budget.

Today is that most special of days in Washington. I am sitting on my deck for the FIRST TIME THIS YEAR! That’s right it is sunny and not too cold and I am spending the afternoon catching up on emails and other tasks while sitting in the sun. I have some great Cuban music streaming through my wireless network and I am truly enjoying working!
In Tacoma we take our sunny days seriously. We don’t seem to get that many. I know that we actually have a great climate but it always seems like winter drags on way too long. What does this have to do with real estate? Glad you asked.
Technology has advanced so that with a small investment real estate agents can do their jobs from just about anywhere. A laptop that will do everything that the majority of us require can be purchased for less than $800.00 easily. Cell phones now have unlimited minutes for under $100.00 a month! I know that I am switching my plan to one of the unlimited plans this week. No more worrying if my cell phone bill will be more than the national debt of a small island country. Efaxes, scanners, and printers are all available and are portable. We can work anywhere.
A few months ago I wrote a post about whether real estate agents needed offices anymore. It sparked a small conversation about the value of an office for agents. I know that I cannot work from home 100% of the time. I am simply too easily distracted to be as productive as I need to be. However, I know that I don’t want to drive 30 miles roundtrip just to get a fax from the office. Having the technology to work from home is vital to my professional success and my personal happiness. Besides my office while nice and new doesn’t have a deck to sit on!
I hope that all of you are enjoying the sunny weather that you are having. If you’re not enjoying sunny weather don’t worry I won’t be enjoying it much longer. It is supposed to rain tomorrow…….

In doing research for this post I found out that there are already over 1300 homes in Tacoma that are already on one form of the historic register or another. This is just in Tacoma! Many homes are on the register because they are in historic districts within the city. Others like the building over here.
are on the register for their historical or architectural significance. There are over 140 specific buildings on the register. Some are quite funky, some are historically significant. All have had their history recorded on the historic register.
If you want to know more please attend this very important and valuable seminar on the 13th. of March.
