In the January 2009 edition of Southern Living Magazine Atlanta and Buckhead rank atop two of their Readers Choice Awards best "Travel Destinations." Atlanta is ranked as the 3rd Best Destination City in the South to get away for a long weekend or extended stay, while Buckhead just north of Atlanta is ranked in the Top Spot as the Best Neighborhood for Shopping.
Atlanta has so many wonderful activities, restaurants, and shopping that it is no doubt why Southern Living ranks it as the 3rd best destination in the South. Atlanta is also noted as one of the top Convention Destinations alongside other cities such as Chicago, Las Vegas and New Orleans. Spend an afternoon in one of Atlanta''s best tourist spots, the Georgia Aquarium, the Coca Cola Museum, Underground Atlanta, or Centennial Olympic Park. Enjoy the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and a stroll through Piedmont Park. Are you a Sports fan? Atlanta is home to some of the best professional sports in the business. The Atlanta Hawks Basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball, or Atlanta Falcons football, are among just a few of the local sporting events to take part in. Do you enjoy broadway entertainment? Go and check out the famous FOX Theatre to see a broadway show. There are many other reasons why I think Atlanta is at the top. Email me today and I will help you plan your next trip in Atlanta.
There is no wonder why Buckhead is ranked at the top of the list for Best Cities in the South for Shopping. At the heart of Buckhead is Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza. Both are home to the most elite shopping you can find and who knows...you just might see someone famous walking around one of those malls. Buckhead is currently being transformed into what some have called the "Beverly Hills of the South." Recent projects have brought the most elite hotels and real estate into the city. Real Estate Projects such as The Mansion, Sovereign Buckhead, The Realm, Intercontinental Hotel, the Terminus, and 5 star hotel St. Regis have all added to the elite upscale Buckhead Community. Boutique shopping is at its finest along Peachtree Street. Can't find what you want in Buckhead's shopping district, you won't find it at all! Tired of shopping? Enjoy some of the best restaurants Atlanta has to offer right in Buckhead. My favorites are Mortons of Chicago, Bones, Anthony's, Pricci's, Kyma, and The Palm. Visit the Buckhead Diner Group to see a list of some of the best restaurants in the buckhead community.
