Will you approve a $350,000 bond referendum for the city of Tega Cay to spend more money? Your opinion does not matter. You don’t get to vote.
Tega Cay City council passed 4 to 1 last Monday the first reading of a motion to issue a $350,000 bond package to pay for golf course and community center improvements. The money is also for the creation of a city storm water utility department.

I had to laugh when I read a Fort Mill Times editorial this week about Wal-Mart building a wall of stores around our community. I posted Sunday the news about a new Wal-Mart planned for Highway 21 and Flint Hill road and another store is planned in the Lake Wylie area. What I did not say is Wal-Mart has been planning a new store in Lancaster County on Highway 521 in Indian Land. Wal-Mart and Lancaster County officials did not know when construction will begin of the Indian Land Wal-Mart.
Still not enough shop to you drop? Construction for a new Wal-Mart is schedule to begin this year in the Newport community northwest of Rock Hill near the intersection of Highway 161 and Heckle Boulevard.

The quick answer is yes. It seems to be a buyers market for home sales almost everywhere thanks to the media. The media pounds us everyday with bad news about the credit industry, foreclosures, high gas prices, the weak dollar, etc. Some of it is true and some is, well just over exaggerated to say it nicely. So most potential home buyers today think it is a buyers market no matter where they are looking. But we still have a lot of people looking at homes for sale in our area.

I’ve had several request to share what our current real estate market condition is compared to last year. Many of you are considering options of whether this is the best time to sell or buy a home, some had questions as to what the list price to sold ratio is this year vs. last year, and many had just general questions about real estate as it applies to us. Below is a snapshot of the Tega Cay SOLD Market for January and February 2007 compared to the same time frame for 2008, as well as a breakout of Lake Shore SOLD activity.
If you would like specific information as it applies to your home and the appreciation value from when you purchased it compared to similar properties sold since that purchase date please contact me. I will be happy to do a complete analysis and provide you with information that can assist you in making important decisions. We’ve all heard about “Location, Location, Location”; in today’s changing real estate market the slogan “TIMING, TIMING, TIMING” should also become part of the equation.
