The RESA Southeastern Michigan Chapter (RESA-SEM) is proud to announce that it is sponsoring a charity Home Staging event to be held April 24th and April 26th. This event will give Realtors and Michigan residents a chance to see how Home Staging can transform a home. The RESA members will be staging a vacant house in Clawson, Michigan. Realtors will be able to tour the house on Friday, April 24th. The house will be open for public viewing Sunday, April 26th. Participating Home Stagers will be on hand to answer questions, give advice and offer complimentary Home Staging Consultations to the winners of the raffle. There will also be classic Detroit cars on display. All donations as well as proceeds from a lemonade stand will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County.
Michigan stagers and RESA aren't just staging homes; they are staging the community they live in too. Several RESA-SEM members are also participating in the Habitat Women Build May 12th-16th.
If you want more information on this exciting project, contact RESA - Michigan State President, Melody Herr of Selling Impressions at Melody@sellingimpressions.com. For more information on Habitat for Humanity, call Brad Irwin at (248) 338-1843.

Habitat for Humanity built its first home in Oakland County in 1994. Since then, Habitat for Humanity's Oakland County affiliate and more than 20,000 donors, sponsors, and volunteers have built safe, decent, affordable housing for more than 100 families. I have to tell you that we at Selling Impressions home staging company are really excited to be a part of RESA, particularly here in South-East Michigan. The South East Michigan chapter has embraced the mission of giving back to our community. When I say embraced, I mean they really are making it happen. This started as a seed of an idea and has taken on a life of its own. Thanks to the fantastic group of stagers that have started to meet monthly around the Metropolitan Detroit / South Eastern Michigan area and their take charge attitude, we are sponsoring a charitable home staging event.
We will be staging a vacant home in Oakland County in conjuction with several area stagers and then having two open houses...one just for local realtors and one for the general public. Donations will be accepted at the door. The money raised from this will be going to a local charity which we are in the process of deciding upon. (There are so many worthy causes to chose from!) From the moment we left our February meeting, I started getting emails loaded with ideas. It wasn't long before those ideas turned into action. In less than a month, the members of the SEM chapter of RESA have taken that seed and made it grow.
If you aren't a part of this wonderful organization yet then you should be. This group has heart and is committed not only to the field of home staging but to creating a more beautiful world to live in. If you want to take part in or help sponsor our Charitable Home Staging event, contact Melody Herr at Melody@sellingimpressions.com And if you can't help in that way then come out to the open house at the end of April and support this worthy cause.
Check back her for more details...location, Open House date and time, Sponsored Charity, etc. More information will be available soon.
And again, Thank you Thank You Thank you to you beautiful stagers out there that are helping make this happen...Jennifer Cohol of Selling Impressions, Deborah Chene of Staging Impressions, Marianne Sweet of Home Sweet Home Staging and Virginia Tatseos of Stage Show Sell... and those are just the stagers that are organizing...a full list of participating stagers will be published later.

March Update and Luncheon/Meeting information
MEETING ON MONDAY MARCH 9TH....
This month's meeting will take on a slightly different format than usual. As we reported in February, we will be hosting a charity staging event in April. To that end, we have picked a home to stage in Clawson. So, anyone that is interested in being a part of this fantastic event should meet at the house at 11:00 a.m. for viewing and photo opportunities. We will then all proceed to the regular meeting from there. Because of this, we will not have the usual 11:30- Noon Meet-n-Greet but will instead meet at Noon. During lunch we will discuss the project house and firm up final details. Several members have already put in a lot of hours on this so let's all do our part to make this a big success.
RSVP by Saturday, March 6th.

I don't know about you but I am feeling a bit tired from all the places that I "Need" to belong to on the internet. "Do you Twitter?" someone asked me recently. I wasn't sure how to respond. Should I slap their face, lie and say "of course" or admit I had no clue what they were talking about. We spend so much time discovering the latest technology to help move our businesses forward that, by the time we think we have it all figured out, the next thing has come and is threatening to leave us behind.
As State President for Michigan - Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) I feel compelled to keep up with the latest and greatest so that I can do the best to serve my area stagers. We recently started a facebook group called Michigan Home Stagers. Personally, I have joined LinkedIn and Facebook recently. I also participate in Active Rain, although not as much as I would like to. For some reason, my family demands to be fed and to have clean laundry to wear!
SO, I think I will rely on the community at large to keep me apprised of the growing trends in technology and the rest of the world. Just give me a good old thump when something worth going naked for or starving for comes up!
