Cheryl & Duane are a husband and wife team located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, B.C. and have recently completed thier latest Home Staging Project in Alberta, where they sold their recently built home.
Before Cheryl Staged the property, the realtor listed the property at $317,900 with a first offer of $240,000. Cheryl then staged the interior and exterior of the property and the next offer was for $310,000 and was accepted!
The property was very remote with 4.5 acres, 1200sqft home and was only on the market for 3 weeks before our accepted offer. This was not in a HOT market area. Duane and Cheryl invested under $1000 to stage their property but targeted key areas that would most increase the value of the property, this resulted in the offers increasing by $70,000.00 !!!
This home sale experimental process was intentionally done to prove that Staging really does produce results !

Home Staging is a non-regulated industry. Keeping this in mind - Professional Home Stagers DO NOT require licensing and there is no legally recognized certification or accreditation. If a Home Staging professional claims to be accredited, it is simply a misleading use of words / marketing strategy. Cheryl Reynen, President of Set the Stage; is a Staging Diva Graduate and has undergone extensive training along with 3 years experience.
There is no such 'home staging' license that would govern any home staging professional by specific home staging laws or regulations within Canada. Professional Home staging is a new industry within the real estate industry and as time goes on and the industry grows we anticipate the legal licensing coming into the industry.
Research the home staging professional of your choice with as much information as you can, check references and review the portfolio. try to make sure the images in the portfolio are of actual homes the stager has personally completed and not just 'stock' photography purchased online. Lastly - get everything in writing! all agreements for services should be documented in writing along with the costs to be paid by the client, to eliminate surprise fees etc.
