My GPS plugged in and telling me how to get to Cottonwood for my sales meeting, my Blackberry buzzing that I have new messages, my Bluetooth bugging my ear, and my laptop charging off of the cigarette lighter in the back. I was wondering "How Many Tweets am I missing?" I couldn't wait to "tweet" about the new products and services that we are getting ready to launch. WOW.
But I think the most important thing that I would like to blog about, for the next 4 days, is the Four Agreements. ~ A Practical Guide To Personal Freedom. By Don Miguel Ruiz
I have read the first chapter OVER AND OVER. I listened to it all the way to Cottonwood and back (about an hour or so drive). I was told by a good friend and mentor to MAKE SURE you ALWAYS keep the Four Agreements in your life. Before I started reading it, I ordered 2 other books for 2 of my good friends.
Agreement #1: Be IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use thepower of your word in the direction of truth and love.
I really needed to hear this, ponder it and start implementing this.
It goes very deep. It talks about how you make agreements with yourself based on what you think and what other people tell you. If you are told you sing terrible, then you will make an agreement with yourself to not sing in public anymore.
If you get caught up in the gossip....and you say negative things about people and to people, you are not being IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD. I am looking forward to a happier, more fulfilled life by implementing this agreement.
Tonight's reading (Agreement #2): DONT TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say nd do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be he victim of needless suffering. I REALLY need to read this chapter. It's been one of those weeks. I'll report on it tomorrow!
