Aloha,
Welcome to my blog on the Big Island of Hawaii. I will be talking and providing information about, well, pretty much anything to do with the Big Island.
My husband Bob and I discovered the Big Island 21 years ago. At the time, we were living in Seattle, and Hawaii lured us with a great climate and the potential for a year-round healthy, active lifestyle. We arrived late in the evening on our first trip to Kailua Kona, dinig outdoors on a lanai overlooking the shore's edge. The balmy evening, the heady fragrance of plumeria, the green sea turtles, and sea life playing the in ocean below invited us to stay. The tropical vegetation, fruits and flowers reminded me of Ghana in West Africa, where I had lived for a time in my youth. We were so captivated by the Island of Hawaii that we canceled our reservations to see the other Hawaiian islands and began researching real estate opportunities in the Kona area. Our explorations led us to Kona's renowned coffee region, and within ten days of our arrival, we purchased acreage to plant coffee and build our dream home. Since then we have constructed or remodeled six custom homes and developed a unique subdivision in Holualoa.
In addition to designing and building homes, I am (and have been) active as a REALTOR in West Hawaii for the last 20 years. I am currently Broker-in-Charge at Coldwell Banker Maryl Realty, an excellent company that blends a reputation for trustworthy, friendly local service with the international reach of the real estate industry leader Coldwell Banker.
I look forward to providing you more information in the coming days, weeks, and months!
A hui hou,
Sharon
