Feng Shui, my nieces dirty room and the magic quilt?

Feng Shui in China
China outlawed feng shui when the People's Republic of China was founded in 1949. The practice was considered part of the "old" China, so the new government banned it. Today, feng shui masters in China call themselves "consultants" to avoid legal entanglements.

As many of you already know. I am a real estate broker in Westchester/putnam NY. But what you may not be aware of is that 99% of my company business is as a Feng Shui Master/Consultant. In just one day I will have Feng Shui'd a home in India, Dominican Republic, California, Manhattan, Puerto Rico and Woodstock. I would have taught a real estate agent from Kentucky how to Feng Shui her slow selling listing and have helped an agent from Chicago Feng Shui his office with my "8 Mansions Business Program." Now why get into the whole Feng Shui resume thing you may ask. Because with all my experience it was something as insignificant as a quilt I had tucked away in my home, a quilt that is now being referred to as "The Magic Quilt", that has proven to my family the real power of Feng Shui.

The story begins in my nieces bedroom. Now for many of you who have teenagers you probably relate to this story. My nieces room is probably the nastiest, messiest, dirtiest room on the planet. I don't get it! She is very clean and obsessive about how she looks, spends hours on her hair and make-up but when you walk into her bedroom you would swear that there were bodies buried in there. It gets worse! She can't throw anything away!

Now in Feng Shui hoarding and cluttering are the key ingredients to a toxic body, mind and spirit. Material objects in our lives can hold a lot of good energy "CHI" or alot of "SHA-CHI" bad energy. When you clutter your life with too many "things" the energy turns to sha-chi and starts to disrupt your life on many levels. It disrupts your business, finances, health, relationships and clogs-up your spiritual channels. Now how important are spiritual channels?

Think of your spiritual channels as the arteries that connect the energy flow from the "source, supply and substance" of your dreams to the actual manifestation of your dreams. If that's too metaphysical for you, then think of clutter as the blood clot in your arteries that can manifest into a stroke, heart attack and/or even death. My nieces room was the poster child for a sha-chi heart attack.

On Sunday September 6th 2009, the day of our Labor Day family picnic my sister was complaining about how she couldn't take the mess in her home anymore. She felt her kids were at an age where not only should they be paying rent but helping keep the house in order as well. She felt that as a single parent of three now grown kids, she had given all she had and felt empty, something had to give. My family has never been open to Feng Shui so I always kept it on the down low but that day her pain was weighing down heavy on my heart. That's when I decided to give my sister a glimpse into the magical world of my Feng Shui arsenal.

I have many objects that I gift away to clients, friends and family that I have filled with positive healing energy. In my arsenal was the quilt. I gave the quilt to my sister who's been having health issues due to the clutter in her home. She fell in love with it instantly and promised to take good care of it. I knew as soon as she wrapped herself in it she would feel warm and protected. The healing affects would soon come after.

After a few days I got a call from my sister. She said, "Something strange is going on in my home. This may sound crazy but I think your quilt has some kind of magic in it. I came home today to find Bridgette had cleaned up her room. And I don't mean pushed crap from one side of the room to the other side of the room I mean cleaned, disinfected, freshened up, vacuumed and shampooed her rug. I walked in to see if she was home, went into her room and immediately went into shock. Everything was spotless!!! And on her bed, sprawled out like a huge white fluffy bright cloud was the quilt, underneath the quilt was Bridgette with two of her best friends fast asleep.

Later on that night my niece told my sister that when she and her friends saw the quilt they felt like hugging it because it looked so fluffy and soft. She then said that something strange came over her after hugging it. She immediately felt the need to clean her room. The last time she cleaned her room was seven years ago. After they were done, she and her friends cuddled up and fell into what she says was the best sleep she'd ever had.

My sister has since shared the quilt with her other kids and now calls it the "magic quilt." She's noticed a change in herself and her kids since the clutter is gone. They have a deal now, whoever finishes their chores or responsibilities first get's to cuddle and sleep with the quilt. Who knows how long it'll last and who cares. All I know is when you've had a taste of freedom theirs no turning back.

My sister has since shared this story with our mother who now wants the last quilt I have left. I'm having a hard time parting with the last one because well it's taken me twenty years to accumulate and season all five that I had. But this last one is the one I like to use when I have to bust out the "Big Feng Shui Guns." This is the one my agent friends call for when they're having that last open house that they're praying will help them on their quest to seal the deal.

But it's my mom, what can you do.

I have officially become a rainmaker. WOOOOHOOOO!!! I'm sooooo looking forward to whatever that means. All I know is that I'm gonna blog my butt off! I had so many fun, interesting, weird and funny Feng Shui experiences so far this year. Many started when I worked doing the census the beginning of this year. What an experience! It was fun and scary at the same time.

I'd like to share three important things I learned from working the census. (1) I'm no longer surprised by how people live. (2) I sware I found Elvis. and (3) People in Kent NY hate people, enough said.

Is Feng Shui truly about Science or just Superstition?

I spent my whole life practicing Feng Shui and didn't even know it. Growing up in an abusive and violent environment, creating harmony and balance for my own peace of mind and safety was my only focus. I believe that's why I got into real estate and became a well respected Feng Shui Master. It came from a strong need to help people find a safe place to hang their hats. A place that felt harmoniously balanced, a cuddle spot if you will.

Not til ten or so years ago did I find out that there was a name to the practice that kept me safe. I immediately studied Feng Shui til I could study no more. It lead to a lot of confusion and miss information. Then I did the unthinkable. I second guessed what had kept me safe for many many years for someone who called themselves "Master."

After one extremely expensive consultation I almost immediately saw my whole world turn up side down. Everything around me crashed. The information, remedies and enhancements I was given was incorrect and based more on superstition than the actual art and science and principles of Feng Shui.

I later regrouped and searched every corner of the earth for remedies, enhancements, teachings and masters that could help me get my life back in balance. I'm very grateful for that experience because it lead me to where I am today. I speak from truth and the experiences in my own life and NOT superstition.

I owe my final understanding of Feng Shui to the teachings of Master Larry Sang founder of the "American Feng Shui Institute." He's what I like to call, 'the sprinkles on the icing on the cake,'" he made something so intricate and many times complicated into something useful and easy for all to understand.

In my classes and consultations I base some of my work on Master Sang's teachings but have also incorporated other schools of Feng Shui including the intuitive practices of my personal Feng Shui that kept me in balance and safe all my life. Yes Feng Shui is the art and science of being in harmony with your environment but you can't forget the influence of spirit and infinite power, the creator of all energy (Inner-Chi). In my teachings I have combined all forms of Feng Shui to help many heal their homes and transform their daily lives.

I look forward to sharing many of my experiences, magical and down right amusing with all of you.

Blessing, Joy and Success to us ALL!!!

Snooty Feng Shui Experience

logo

Hello, soul sister!

I've noted your occasional postings on FB, and have quietly sent good energy eastward to you whenever I thought of it. The last time we directly communicated, you had a LOT on your "plate". How are you doing?

I LOVE! your feng shui postings and so wish you were on the west coast. The one person who checked our home back around 2000 was a snooty rich woman who mixed good Feng Shui with personal judgements. It was a frustrating experience, because I totally get the energy, and my husband wasn't so open to the feng shui principles. This just shut the door for him.

But, I did follow intuition when we remodeled in 2004-2006, and LOVE our current home energy. But, I also know that good can be improved to GREAT.

Anyway, when you feel up to it, SPILL! LOL! Tell me how you're doing!

Love,
Kathleen
I am so excited to have you in my life! Your energy travels all the way through the web and into my heart. I'm not surprised that you let your inner spirit lead you in the right direction when it came to Feng Shui.

That snooty lady thinks that it's all about her and doesn't understand that Feng Shui is not about ego. It's about spirit and giving back. But I'm sure she makes a fortune none the less.

Attitude does not equal knowledge, it represents ignorance.

Blessings gotta go! =0)
