My husband, Doug & I married 20 years ago and blended 2 families for a total of 5 children, Scott, Josh, Chris, Lori & Will. We now have 7 grandchildren with a grandson due in March of 2012. Doug & I have spent countless hours on Lakes Hartwell & Keowee with our children picniking, boating, fishing, & hunting. We are continuing this love of the outdoors with our grandchildren. All of our children graduated from Pendleton High School - Scott graduated from Tri-County Technical College, Chris from Spartanburg Technical College, our one & only daughter, Lori, from Anderson University, Will from Lander University and Josh joined the Marine Corps. As you can see we have deep roots - we love our home, our community and couldn't imagine living in any other part of the world.

In February 2007, I began the process of selling our weekend/vacation getaway style property on Lake Hartwell. My wife & I had purchased the land in 1985 and later built the residence in 1991. Since I had sold a small number of properties myself in the past my plans were to do the same simply because our property "had it all" when it came to lakefront homes.

However, while I was again "in the process", I looked at the websites of the leading players when it comes to the sale of property on Lake Hartwell. Since I have been in this area for over 20 years I know both buyers and sellers that have dealt with all the agencies. Upon review of the websites, it was easy to determine that the agency dealing only in Lake Hartwell property was essentially in a performance & results league all of its own. Once I had looked at Hartwell Lake Properties website in greater detail along with the individual profiles of each agent, I then decided to contact Sandy Brabham. Now some 18 months later, I have involved Sandy in two projects, the initial sale of our lake home, which yielded very positive results for ALL parties involved, but also in the sale of 2 lakefront lots that I purchased in this same area.

In January 2007 we began our Internet search for lake property and a new agent. I found a property on your website that fit our wants and needs, and the listing agent was Sandy Brabham. Soon after making the first call to Sandy I realized we'd gotten a wonderful real estate agent this time! When I contacted Sandy she said "that particular property is now under contract", but spent a lot of time on the phone and through many emails determining our wants/needs for our "perfect lake home -- second home." Her detailed knowledge base, experience, great use of the internet, timeliness, and commitment were most impressive as she became our "buyers' agent." We spent several Fridays together looking at properties and evaluating them with Sandy always providing the answers we needed. After he saw the property a few days later he was confident in our contract offer as well.

Throughout the buying process Sandy went above and beyond in counseling us; during contract negotiations; home inspection results; contract re-negotiations; extensive research on the property and our final closing in March 2007. She even gave us a list of businesses and contacts in the area for any need that might arise, which has already come in handy. Sandy's customer service skills are excellent, and she should train other agents for you. We highly recommend Sandy Brabham, and will continue our business with her for many years to come. We look forward to referring many friends to her over the years since we're confident they'll have the same positive experience we had. My husband and I do not make quick decisions especially involving this much money, but with Sandy's experience and guidance this was an easy decision because we knew it was the right one.
