Homes sales are relatively similar in Ridgefield Park from 1 year ago, however, although the data suggests an increase in list price, same style homes in the town have actually seen a significant price reduction in line with the rest of the towns in Bergen County. This does make it more attractive for buyers looking to move to the town of Ridgefield Park with prices much lower than recent years.
As of today 2/16/09 at 9pm, there are 104 residential homes for sale in Ridgefield Park.
Their prices range from $40,000 to $880,000, and the median LIST price is $375,000.
Of these, 55 are single family homes, and 35 are multi-Family homes. There also 14 Condo/Townhomes listed on the NJMLS. Information supplied by the NJMLS is deemed reliable, but not guaranteed.

The difference in SOLD prices from last January to this January is significant. And although the large percentage drop from January sales is extreme, & not an exact indicator of ALL home value percentage drops for Maywood, there was certainly a major house value reduction across the board - making the current list prices considerably lower - and subsequently more attractive for buyers looking to move to the great town of Maywood.
As of today 2/6/09 at 12 noon, there are 42 homes for sale in Maywood.
Their prices range from $299,000 to $949,000, and the median LIST price is $375,000.
Of these, 38 are single family homes, and 4 are 2-Family homes. There are currently no Condo/Townhomes listed on the NJMLS.

This River Edge preschool is a premiere child care center enriching children from 2 years old to Kindergarten age.
Kids are grouped by age, and here is a picture of the "Terrific Teddies" group this morning, as they proudly paraded their favorite "PJs" !!!

The kids enjoyed the day as they were able to read, learn, play and eat lunch in their comfy PJs !!!!

For those here in Bergen County following the construction progress of the highly anticipated "Bergen Town Center" - there was a major breakthrough today ....
... the TARGET SIGN WENT UP !!!!!!!!

Now aside from the realization that we are getting this fabulous store right in our neighborhood, this new sign hanging today is significant because Paramus and Maywood residents and visitors can now get excited that we are nearing completion of this 3 year project to upgrade the former "Bergen Mall", to a premier, modern shopping center which will be home to Target, Century 21 (the department store!), Whole Foods, Gap/Gap Kids Outlet, New York & Company, Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th, Marshalls, Filenes, Zales and The Children's Place.
.... oh and let's not forget Chuck E Cheese's !!!!!

Sure we already have 3 other huge Malls in Bergen County already, but they're ADDING A NEW TARGET TO THE AREA !!!!!
HOW CAN THEY GO WRONG !
We love Target round here !!!
I can go into this red wonderland and pickup a new game for Wii, some cereal (on sale 2 for $5 this week ;o), a few things for my son from the 'Dollar Spot', some seasonal trinkets, a new snow shovel, all in one place, and still race through the '10 Items or less' checkout ! ... that Sunday flyer cant arrive quick enough :o)
So tonight I can rest peacefully with a smile, knowing that in the near future I can walk from my house to my second favorite home away from home (second to Home Depot) ...
... and that heavenly place just put up their little red bullseye today ! ...
....aahhh ! ....
G'nite everyone ....sleep tight ...
Celebrating its rebirth after being renovated 5 years ago, the Historical Landmark adds a touch of 'yesteryear' to this quaint town with its restored makeover which includes some nostalgic advertisements from a different era.

**
Originally built in 1872, the last passenger trains pulled into the Victorian-style station in 1966, and since then, the tracks that parallel the station have been used for freight only.
**
For decades the station sat in disrepair, and was threatened with demolition in early 2002.
But the passion for preservation soon took over from the many dedicated individuals who did not want to see the historical landmark disappear - these individuals formed the Maywood Station Historical Committee, and after 2 years of tireless dedication and fundraising, the project became a reality, and the restoration was completed in mid 2004 !
**
Its current allure includes a brick walkway with engraved bricks from a completed fundraiser that received donations from local residents and station supporters which in return afforded them the priviledge of being a part of the Station's preservation.

The station and museum now holds open houses and tours throughout the year, to allow members of the community a peek inside the Station House and experience the "living history" through the many pictures, drawings, and exhibits **...

... and take a closer look at the beautifully restored Caboose 24542 - the fiery red engine that grabs your attention as you drive down Maywood Avenue.
For tours of 10 or more, you can contact the Museum Organizers through their official website www.maywoodstation.com - or check back to the same website for Open House schedules starting in the Spring. Admission is free but donations are welcome !
