So, I don't know what it is with me. But I do not handle instruction from my hubby when it comes to golf or anything else athletic. The man is extremely athletic and can master any sport he puts his mind to. I should be a sponge wanting to learn from him...
However, years ago (17 years ago) he was teaching me karate and I just had the hardest time doing what he said. Literally we almost ended our relationship because he felt I was being disrespectful to him. He tried teaching me golf 15 years ago and I didn't receive it will then either. You would think after all these years, I would have gotten past it. NOPE!!
So, we went to go golf (actually I wasn't going to golf, just drive the cart) this weekend w/ some friends. However I decided to give it a try. So, I jumped out on the course and tried it. My girlfriend was instructing and that was going great. But my hubby couldn't resist, he had to try to coach me and the hair on the back of my neck just stood straight up! He is the most amazing guy and is good at golf, so why wouldn't I want instruction from him. I have no idea.
We talked about it and maybe it is because he is a perfectionist when it comes to sports. He is determined to be the best or pretty darn close. Where I do sports more for fun. I enjoy them but I don't have to be the best at them. So I guess I feel he is trying to get me to perfect the sport, but he really isn't.
So, I am going to put myself in a woman's golf league next spring and see if I can get the hang of this sport. Then hopefully my hubby and I can start golfing together. He did tell me he promised not to give me instruction unless I asked. We will see...

Race for the cure is on September 7th at Garden of the Gods. You can do a 5k run, 5k walk or 1k family walk. This is to raise money for breast cancer. You can go to www.komencs.com to get more information. What is so great is that 75% of the funds stay in El Paso County.
Also, just some more awareness. Many people don't realize this, but men can get this disease as well. My father-in-law had it a few years ago. He is doing great, but it definitely caught us all of guard. Everybody needs to do those exams!

Below are the best places we know of to go Fly Fishing in Colorado. If you know of any other places, feel free to add them below.
Eleven Mile Canyon - It is in Lake George, Colorado. It is not the resevoir, it is below the damn. We go there all the time to camp and then my husband will even head up there to just fly fish.
Frying Pan River - Near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. http://www.fryingpananglers.com/ Here you can camp and fly fish aswell.
Blue River - Below Lake Dillon at Silverthorne. I am not familiar with any camping grounds right up by the river. But I have heard some great fly-fishing.
Taylor Reservoir & River- This is up by Gunnison. There are campgrounds up here.
The Arkansas near Canon City - I don't believe anybody camps around here. Just goes there for the fly-fishing.
We do welcome anywhere else that anybody can think of.
