Do you love where you live?? I must say this quirky little town really amazes me. when my husband and I first moved to my home town he was a little concerned to say the least. It is a very small town. Sometimes being an outsider moving to a town like this can be a little hard. Fast forward a year and he has such a love for this town and the people in it. He is actually more well known here than I am. lol He writes an article in our local paper, is a volunteer coach on the high school football team, and very involved in may areas of the community. One morning around Thanksgiving we got a call that a local family had lost their home in a fire that night before. They had no renters insurance at all. He went to check on them that morning. By lunch he called me and said that they were still in their night clothes. I got on the phone and called the local clothing store and asked if they would donate them some clothes. They said yes to bring them on up there. Then the local shoe store agreed to give them all some new shoes. By the way the nigh of the fire a fireman gave the dad his pair of shoes because the dad was standing there bare feet in very cold weather. Then comes another business owner who had a house that was empty.... you guessed it they let the family move in rent and utility free until first of year then an option to rent the house after that. More donations started to come in. Truck load after truck load we picked up to deliver to this family. Within 24 hours of the fire this family needed for nothing. The day after the fire was the little girls birthday. I made a few phone calls and got the word out that morning that we were having a birthday party that night at 6. Over 60 people showed up with gifts for her. The girfts even included a very nice new bike! The local volunteer fire department came to the party with gifts and a collection that they took up to help the family. I must say I am so proud of this little town. We do pull together in hard times. I am proud to be raising my family here!

I must admit that I am no party animal. New Years Eve was a night like all others to me. I just did not have it in me to attend any kind of social event. This past year for me has been a tough one. Especially the past several months. With a daughter who was in a car accident, a grandmother who had a stroke, a grandfather with cancer and so on........ My Real Estate sales not so good............ is it just me?? I know I am not the only one who was honestly struggling with how to balance home and work. Some days it seemed that I had to make myself even want to work because it really didn't seem to help sales anyways. I almost decided to just retire my license and hang it up for a while. Then I actually took a few minutes to reflect and decide what I wanted for this next year and really for my future in general. I honesty love Real Estate! I love to show houses. I love to negotiate contracts. I love it all! So what are my goals for this next year???? Watch out because I have renewed my vows to love Real Estate again. I now remember that it is ok to love my job. Yes, it is much easier to not really care with the market like it is today. If I don't care I won't get hurt right? well, that may be true but I have found my love again. Don't get me wrong I do love my family. I will continue to put them first. I will continue to love them more than life itself. watch out world ........... I may have let my circumstances beat me down for a little while but IM BACK!
