We decided that we need to do a better job of keeping track of down payment assistance money available in our Oklahoma City Metro Area, so we did some research yesterday. We organized all of our contact persons for each program and contacted each of them for an update on their funds availability and when they expect to receive more funds. They all very graciously answered my email request within the same day!
We created a page on our website that provides the details, information and links: www.GroovyEdmond.com/DownPaymentAssistancePrograms, and we will keep it updated regularly on funds availability.
We were so excited to find out that there are two programs that currently have money available, and next week one of them will have even more money available in more programs! It is so very important to many of our clients and to all of the people who want to own a home in our area but don't have enough cash for the down payment and closing costs. If you dream of owning a home, we are committed to helping you make that dream come true!
The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency's 1st Gold program has money available for the entire state of Oklahoma. Next week their new bond will further fund the 1st Gold program as well as their program for teachers, firefighter's and police officers! The interest rate is 5.65% and they help qualified buyers with 3.5% down payment assistance:
See the details at www.GroovyEdmond.com
The Neighborhood Housing Services of Oklahoma City has money available in their inner city program; it provides $6,000 to qualified buyers who purchase a home within a certain area of the city:
See the details at www.GroovyEdmond.com
The Rural Development Program of the USDA has money available for their 100% loan program for qualified buyers.
There are five other programs that will have money available throughout the year:
Rural Enterprises
Community Action Agency of OKlahoma City
City of Edmond Homebuyer Assistance Program
City of Norman Revitalization
Oklahoma County Housing Finance Agency
so check back often at www.GroovyEdmond.com or subscribe to one of our blogs, and stay updated on the availability of funds for down payment assistance.
We'll keep you updated and informed!
Call, text or email any time you have questions or need assistance; we're here for you with the personal attention and expertise that will save you money and time and help you avoid costly mistakes.
