Opening reception was June 18 for the 24th annual ArtWalk I. Artwalk is a yearly event featuring art exhibits at 20 or so gallery locations downtown through July 26, sponsored by Pend Oreille Arts Councel.

revolving art exhibits at at hosting businesses in downtown Sandpoint through Sept. 13,

Fourth of July fireworks over the lake celebration will be held on July 3rd in Sandpoint this year. The Sandpoint Lions Club sponsors a great day for the community, beginning with downtown parades in the morning, stage performances and an ATV raffle at City Beach in the afternoon, and then to top off the night the fireworks show over Lake Pend Oreille at dusk.

4th of July Fireworks Cruise. Lake Pend Oreille Cruises have a 4th of July Fireworks Cruise, departing from Sandpoint City Beach dock on July 3rd, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. for $24. LakePendOreilleCruises.com. 208-255-5253

Then on the 4th head over to Clark Fork for the annual parade and events on the high school grounds through out the day. Fireworks will be held at the high school.

For my favorite the fireworks over Lake Pend Orielle at Hope. For such a little town they sure have a large fireworks display every year.

The Lake Pend Orielle Fishing Derby started Saturday April 24 2010 and ran thru Sunday May 2 2010. One of our own has the biggest fish. Lana Kay broker of Lana Kay Realty is playing hookie from Real Estate and has gone fishing. Her 19 pound 35 inch Mackinaw caught near mineral point in 700 feet of water was the biggest caught in the Derby. She caught a 15 pound mackinaw earlier in the week. Beautiful fish Lana!
