Since I've been on the suject of health care lately I'd like to take a few moments to tell everyone about Dr. Stephen M. Lawrence DMD. Dr. Lawrence's office is located on Wyoming Avenue in Forty Fort Pa. Let me post a link to his Website in case anyone's interested in taking a look for themselves. http://www.excelldent.com
I found the good doctor on the Internet after I ran search on Google for emergency dental care. I called his office and was surprised that his recording gave out his cell phone number for those calling after hours and in pain. I called back at 8:30 and got a very friendly helpful person who was able to take my son in at 10:00 Am that very day. Okay, I couldn't get from my house to his office in time; we made an appointment for the following day at 9:00Am.
Upon arriving at his office I was surprised to find a bright, cheery happy atmosphere with soft chairs, soft music and color TV sets. The staff was very warm and friendly. I was handed a page to fill out front and back. There were the standard questions on the front, signatures on the back and only one sheet. So far this was working for me. After handing back the sheet and having the info put into the computer my son had to sit and wait. The wait was under 10 minutes.
They took him to another room for what I wasn't sure yet. 15 minutes later one of Dr. Lawrence's assistants came to get me. She took me back in the room with my son, showed me the x-rays, explained the options with prices and told me what my son had said he wanted done. The only question was whether or not I would give them permission to pull the tooth as opposed to performing a root canal. No pressure, no sales pitch, just my consent being he is a minor.
I left the room, Dr. came in and numbed my son's mouth, came into the waiting room and smiled at my husband and me. It almost felt like he was saying it was all going to be fine ... relax. He keyed some information into the computer and left. In the mean time his assistant came out to explain what they where doing and to go over the post op. care with us. She had already explained it all to my son, but wanted to be sure we knew as well. 10 -15 minutes later my son came back to the waiting room with a smile. He was no longer in any form of pain and ready to go home.
In by 9:00 out by 10:00 and billed only $223.00, which included the extra strength Motrin pills he gave us in case of pain. I'm a fan and Dr. Lawrence is our new family dentist. Seriously folks, if you're looking for good, quality affordable dentistry in the Pocono area, give the Doc. a call.

Gallery director James Morgan is an artist himself. Mr. Morgan is quite talented with the camera and has mastered the art of capturing the perfect landscape portrait.
The gallery also is host to the watercolor paintings of Ed Havas; an artist from Bethlehem, Pa. Morgan refers to Ed Havas as a true master and considers his works to be one of his best sellers.
Besides being a very talented photographer Mr. Morgan is a very accomplished framer. Some of his clients come from as far away as Virginia to have their work framed, but that's not Morgan's vision for the gallery. Morgan true desire is to promote new talent as well as to continue representing the seasoned master as he has throughout the past 20 years.
There is of course no visit to the gallery without spending a few minutes visiting with Mr. Morgan's pug Bella. Bella can be best described as the head dog in charge, sitting on her arm chair as still as if she were a piece or artwork herself.
Also seen through out the galley is the colorful hand painted furniture of Wendy Glassman. Wendy's fine art work combines a mixture of shapes and colorful media to create one of a kind tables, end tables, trucks, benches and cabinets.
I fell in love with the work of two artists in particular. First are the sculptures created by Robert Bergstrasser of Wilkes-Barre. This amazing artist is just as comfortable creating perfect marble sculptures, as he is creating the numerous clay images known as the "Sinister". My second favorite is the farm life paintings of Cheryl Korb. I couldn't resist and purchased one of her pieces.

Yesterday was the first time we took a space at our local Farmer Market. Although it is billed as a Farmer market they really allow you to sell almost anything and we've gotten some pretty good deals ourselves from time to time. They charge 10.00 for a parking space and you're assigned two spaces for that price. That is given that you use the space in the rear to park your vehicle and the front space to sell your items.
Since we have a small discount pet supply business as well as a computer supply, sales and service business we elected to set up two tables and two shelving units. In addition we set up two small displays, one had information regarding my husband's contracting company and the other with information about my home inspection business.
I was very surprised with how successful the day turned out to be. We sold a large amount of both pet and computer supplies. Since we had our business cards there for the taking I was surprised with how many times I had to refill the card and brochure holders. We also made a new acquaintance; the couple sharing the space to the left of us are NJ Realtors whom recently purchased a home here in Scott Run. Since we live within 15 minutes of each other we plan to get together next weekend for some backyard grilling and home repairs.
Today we got a call from a local business owner who picked up our business card and would like us to come down and service his network, which went down on Friday. I met a local Realtor who suggested that we meet for lunch tomorrow to discuss my home inspection services. It cost us 10.00 for the space, we cooked in the sun for 9 hours, sold a bunch of supplies, made some business contacts and a possible new friend. Not to shabby for a Saturday afternoon at the local Farmer Market.
What is acceptable and expected behavior when blogging within a social network?
For me the main reason to blog is the interaction that I enjoy with the rest of the community. I love to comment and receive comments. That is one of several ways that I expand my wealth of information and of course get to meet more and more people.
So would it be logical to conclude that it would be correct behavior to respond to the comments left on our blogs? Would another appropriate conclusion be that it would be correct to visit the blog of the person who commented on your post and comment there as well? I've been guilty of not responding to comments on my posts and plan to correct this in the future. It stands to reason that if you want to receive comments we should respond and return comments.
Also, it's pretty obvious that we choose what blogs to read or not to read. We choose what to or not to comment on. So is it correct to read another members post and then verbally beat on them for expressing their opinions? Whatever happened to respectfully disagreeing?
What do you think?
The Pocono 500 is facing a pretty grim outlook today. The weather just isn't going to allow the Race to go on. The race is held every year at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond Pa. and is a huge source of revenue for local hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars, gas stations, convenient stores, vendors and just about anyone and everyone within the entertainment and hospitality business.
15 miles away from the Pocono Raceway is my home. I'm currently sitting on my porch watching what I can only categorize as a torrential downpour. The river in my backyard is definitely rising, thunder is getting louder and my gutters can no longer keep up to the amount of rainwater that is coming down. The latest the race can go on is 5:00 pm and I personally don't see it happening. For all the vendors and local business owners the prospects for making money is being washed away before their eyes.
