The Seafair Pirates have landed Seattle July 5th
(photo: neice and grand nephew-pirate play) Seafair mainstays in my earliest memory are the Lake City Grand Parade, the Torchlight Parade, Greenlakes’ Milk carton Derby, Seafair Royalty, Seafair Pirates, The US Navy Blue Angels Air Show and the Hydroplane Races on Lake Washington (in no particular order of occurrence or preference) If the Puget Sound is on your itinerary this summer– you may be in for a treat! The Official Seafair website and some community site links below highlight various upcoming attractions in this years’ Seafair lineup – many with FREE admission.

Volunteers will be gathering at several Seattle area parks to help in a little greening themselves
Sunshine is the Seattle Saturday forecast so it could be ideal weather to spend some time outdoors. If you're interested in volunteering to help remove invasive plants, clean up litter, mulch or plant native species....join a work party! Work party locations are posted on Seattle Parks and Recreation Calendar online. Browse which sites will be providing light refreshments, snacks, drinks, tools or gloves to volunteers and remember many are teen friendly. Contact information and work scope summaries can be found online as well. Think Green!
