Wow it is December ......again.....and we realize that 2008 is almost over!
2008 Has been a very challenging year for most of us with a declining Real Estate Market, summer of astronomical gas prices, stock market roller coaster, elections and last how about Clay Aiken being gay!
I just wanted to use this opportunity to extend a big "Thank You" to each and every one of you, for the huge impact you had on my life this year. Especially for all the support and e-mails I received.......without you, I'm sure that 2008 would have been extremely boring.
As always I am outmost grateful to all of you that have trusted me with your real estate business and wanted to let you know how much I do appreciate that! You helped me through this challenging year and thanks to you I am still only a phone call away. This challenging market has only made us better!

In October, President Bush signed the fiscal 2009 defense budget which authorized a 3.9% pay raise for service members, which will take effect 1 January 2009. This represents a one-half-percent increase over Bush's initial request. So we can look forward to that in the coming year! I am optimistic that we will see lots of positve changes in 2009 and this might be just one of them!

At the Fire Fighting Training school they would demonstrate this with a deep fat fryer set on the fire field. An instructor would don a fire suit and using an 8 oz cup at the end of a 10 foot pole, toss water onto the grease fire.
The results got the attention of the students. The water,being heavier than oil, sinks to the bottom where it instantly becomes superheated. The explosive force of the steam blows the burning oil up and out. On the open field, it became a thirty foot high fireball that resembled a nuclear blast. Inside the confines of a kitchen, the fire ball hits the ceiling and fills the entire room. Also, do not throw sugar or flour on a grease fire. One cup of either creates the explosive force of two sticks of dynamite.

(November 20, 2008) - USDA Food and Nutrition Service Regional Administrator Don Arnette presented Gold Certificates to School Board Officials in Craven County, N.C. today for four of their elementary schools meeting USDA's HealthierUS School Challenge at the highest level. The winning schools are: Ben D. Quinn Elementary, 4275 Clarendon Boulevard, New Bern, N.C. 28562; Bridgeton Elementary, 230 Branch Canal Road, New Bern, N.C. 28560; Havelock Elementary, 201 Cunningham Boulevard, Havelock, N.C. 28532; and Oaks Road Elementary, 2811 Oaks Road, New Bern, N.C. 28560.
These schools' achievements are very significant because obesity is a growing concern for school children in the United States. USDA believes that schools should be taking a leadership role in helping students learn to make healthy eating and active lifestyle choices and commends these North Carolina schools for leading the way in improving the school nutrition environment.
this is a serious problem and we as parents are responsible to be a good example as well as to provide our little once with some choices. Rember they are not the ones going shopping!!!
