Every Day I am bombarded with information in my email from Real Estate, Mortgage and other resouces for buyers. I have decided that since I will be reading and analyzing many of the articles, I will create an e-newsletter for my clients and anyone else that would like to read it. I will include new subdivisions, foreclosure bargains in the area, mortgage updates, real estate news and anything else I find that will be useful in the quest to buy a home. I do not have a set time this publication will go out, just whenever I have information to share.

From Statesville, travel west on Interstate 40 to Ashville NC, home to the beautiful Grove Park Inn. Built in 1913, this Inn is loaded with history.
My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting the Inn for our 23rd wedding anniversary and enjoying the fabulous mountain views. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the valet in front of the original Inn. After check in, you will get to explore your room. There are several differnt options for the room from mountain view to one overlooking the spa and ones with interior views of the Inn. Our room was a corner room with mountain views that had just been remodeled. The sky was very clear and we could see for miles! The only drawback to our room was that we did not have a balcony to sit out on. That would have been perfect.
Resort casual is the dress code for the extensive Friday night seafood buffet. What a spread! It is not possible to leave there hungry! Service was great and the food was fabulous. Don't forget to check out the dessert area - Yum.
There are many things to do during your stay. Go golfing on the legendary course named after Donald Ross or work out at the sports complex.
Visit the shops at the Inn or wander downtown Asheville and shop in the Historic Biltmore Village. Take a short ride down Route 74A and drive the winding roads around Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.
If you decide to remain at the Inn, you can spend your time at the Spa. This is something you do not want to miss. What a place. If you do not use the services, make sure you at least take a tour. Enjoy the outdoor fire pits, jacuzzi spas, outdoor pool area, indoor pool, massages, facials and much much more... Relax and Enjoy!
In the evenings before dinner, take a romantic stroll through the endless trails, check out the museum and art shops or just take a seat and enjoy the view with a great glass of wine.
For dinner, you have 3 great options to choose from - Horizons, The Blue Ridge Dining Room and the Sunset Terrace. Afterward, you can have some fun in the piano bar (Elaine's), Listen to live music in the Great Hall Bar or Magnolia Lounge and relax in the Cabana Grill.
This is just the beginning of the ammenities offerd at the Grove Park, so pack up the car and head out for a relaxing weekend at the Inn (oh yea - don't forget your wallet!) Make sure the check the website for specials!
All this within a 2 hour drive of Statesville- and what a drive it is!

If you have been hiding in a cave for the last several months, you may have missed all the excitement in Statesville. There are so many wonderful activities going on, it is hard to choose what you want to attend. I say........attend the all! Here's a quick run down of what's going on and the links to all the details.
Do you love music? Then you have alot of options this summer. Come on downtown and check out the tunes at the second Fret. There is always something going on just about every night. Tuesday is Karaoke with ponytail Bob and this weekend you can enjoy "positively Bob Dylan" in the music room. If you love to sing, try out the open mic on Saturday afternoon.
Friday, June 26th is the third installment of the Friday After Five Concert series in downtown Statesville from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This Concert features the Mediorce Bad Guys and promises to be a fun toe tapping time. Don't miss it!
Thursday, June 11 kicked off the start of the Downtown evening Farmers Market in Pecan Park from 4 to 6:30. Pick out fresh produce from local residents and taste the homemade jams and jellies. Shop for handmade crafts and this week, enjoy free cake and tea! See you there!

Did you get your car magnet and T-shirt to celebrate the 2009 All American City Campaigne? Excitement is in the air and the entire city is holding our breath in anticipation of the final decision to be made in Tampa Florida on June 19th. Help support the cause and become a cheerleader for our city!
Don't miss the 5th Annual Independence Day Parade in Troutman on June 27th at 11:00 a.m. Bring your family and friends for a fun filled day of Floats, bands, clowns and more. Bring your chairs, umbrellas (for the sun) and a cooler - Relax and enjoy!

Blaring horns, traffic lines several miles long and a concrete jungle are a few things you will not find in Troutman NC. What you will find is is a small quiet town with one main road going right down the middle of it and a winding walking trail for visitors and residents to enjoy an evening stroll. What you also find is Falls Cove Subdivision. This beautiful community sits just out of town. Lake Norman is within walking distance and shopping is just a few miles away.

Amenities: Falls Cove will offer a 10 acre amenity park and will feature a pool, tennis courts, playground and nature trails as well as a commity activity center with a full-time activities director. Just down the street is the Lake Norman State Park offering recreational opportunities such as a beach and pavilion, boat launch, bike and walking trails and camping. There are several marinas in the area to launch and store your boat. Lake Norman offers over 500 miles of shore line to enjoy (that should keep you busy for a while)!
The community is served by the Troutman Elementary and Middle and South Iredell High School. There are also several Private School options available not far away. Homeowner dues will be approximately $1400 per year. The community also offers email updates to all homeowners to help keep you up to date on what is happening in your community.

They came out in droves and filled the streets for the first "Friday after Five" celebration sponsored by Peidmont Healtcare. The weather was perfect and the music made you want to kick off your shoes and tap your toes! The west end of Broad Street was closed off to cars around 3:00 to make way for the expected crowd and set up. A large stage was set on the end for Sammy O'Banion and Mardi Gras to entertain the crowd, tents were set up along the sides for the food and fun. Hot dogs and Hamburgers were served by the local boys scouts, beer and wine for the adults, and animal balloons and face painting for the young at heart.
Local volunteers also manned a tent to sell t-shirts and magnets for the "All American City" fundraiser. They were there to raise money to send the presenting group to Tampa Florida in June in hopes the our city would be named one of the top 10 All American Cities in the country. Statesville is currently one of 32 in the finals! The last time we had this honor was in 1997 and it is well overdue. With the new Boys and Girls Club facility, the new Fifth Street Ministries shelter and the work done by our chances are great. The city is also sending the Stateville High School drum line to Florida to kick off the "Many Beats, One Rythem" campaigne. We wish them all the best of luck! Come out and join the residents of Statesville and many others on the next Friday after Five on June 12th. Bring your chairs and your dancin shoes!
